I was in a sound room trying out acoustic guitars. The door opened. I heard Black magic woman being picked perfectly on a fender and amp . It was my 7 year old musical prodigy ear playing son . I bought him his first fender. He just turned 23, and comes over here and grabs a guitar off my wall and always leaves all my guitars tuned differently. One for each song he plays, or just to upset me? . Talent must skip a generation. I was in Montreal in 2011. Great concert.

I first heard this song from my big brother who played a long-playing record on our stereo system about 45 years ago. He happens to be a fan of Carlos Santana back then. Now, I still admire how great he plays the lead guitar.

As much as I love and appreciate Santana's guitar, what often strikes me most about his best music the the rhythm section. I kinda don't want to hear Santana on his own, I need him to be wrapped up in and elevated by that incredible bass and drum section.
