8:14 This is POSSIBLY a step in manufacturing glass used in camera lenses. Glass sheets are produced using a special formula with certain specialized grades of sand, and then they are broken up, melted down and go through the process again, sometimes three times, to extract any impurities in the glass that might degrade the optics they will be used for.

Thank you.
@donotlike4anonymus5947 місяців тому
Well maybe... but idk it seems kinda strange to break the glass by hand Inefficient.. couls be or could be some angry employe prhaps...
@markmalasics34137 місяців тому
@@donotlike4anonymus594 The only reason I had a possible clue about what's going on is because I saw a video from Canon showing how they make lens glass, and the breaking is done by hand. Maybe this particular situation isn't that, but it's a possibility.
@taunokekkonen5733Місяць тому
My guess was that it's a pile of glass that didn't meet spec and they made sure no workers tried to re-sell it on the black market..

I wish we could see a follow up on how the stadium seats look in a week, month or year after. My guess is it’s a last ditch fix to buy a little time before having to replace.
@mecubero6 місяців тому
It depends on the type of plastic, but that technique is used across many fields to rejuvenate plastic and that results last a long time.
@ducknorris2336 місяців тому
@@mecubero thanks, I was certain that there was a catch. Nice to know it really works

@@mecuberothey turn back in two weeks time, doesn't matter on what kind of plastic, there's no coating protecting it from the sun like when originally made.
@chosen1one9308 днів тому
@@ducknorris233 don't believe that guy, he clearly doesn't know. It's better off buying new cheap seats because the plastic is already damaged from the sun, any coating protecting it is gone. In a short time, usually less than a month the seats go back to looking bad. If they would treat the plastic with a protective sun coating it would last longer but hey don't

Flame polishing is cool. Just have to be super careful not to overdo it, as it will melt plastic easily.
