Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway (previously known as just Scars on Broadway) is an American band, founded by System Of A Down member Daron Malakian (vocals, guitar) alongside with his System Of A Down bandmate, John Dolmayan on drums. The band's eponymous debut album was released on July 29, 2008. At this time the band also included members Dominic Cifarelli (bass guitar, backing vocals), Franky Perez (guitar, vocals) and Danny Shamoun (keyboards, piano, percussion).
On April 16th, 2018, Daron Malakian announced that a lead single from the second album will be released on April 23rd. The band has been re-branded as “Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway”. On April 23, 2018, Daron Malakian released the official video of the song "Lives", also releasing the release date of the Scars On Broadway's new album, titled Dictator, on July 20, 2018.

Daron is my all time favorite guitar player. Growing up listening to soad I couldn't help but learn a few of them amazing riffs. I just learned how to play this song as well. Probably my favorite Scars on Broadway song

This song, aerials, holy mountains and Babylon all have a very similar picking pattern. Aerials gets the most attention, but the 2nd half of Babylon is one of the best parts Daron has written, along with the musical theatre like 2nd half of stealing Society and the bridge for Deer Dance.

hell yeah, at least in this era, a lot of sob songs have a synth, probably played by daron in the studio, I think he played almost every instrument in the album, despite from the drums of course
