I used to live two towns over from this house. It always amazed me how normal it looked. I don’t believe in ghosts but the Defoe part of the story always horrified me. My mom worked at Brunswick where they treated him. She never met the man but told me stories about people who did. That house taught me evil can live in the most ordinary places; to quote A Haunting.

In the 70's the family across the street from my grandmother USED to have the most VIOLENT full family physical flights I have ever seen to this day. The father actually was a school teacher. He once threw a pitch fork from a second floor Deck at his 16 or so Year old son going completely through his thigh. Imagine explaining that to emergency room doctors today?

I lived around the block from this house for awhile when I was younger. I always felt bad for the people that lived there during Halloween 🎃 so many people used to drive by

I saw this house out of my bedroom window, directly across the canal (Riverside Ave) for 2 years. I couldn't stop at 7-11 without giving directions to someone almost every day. It's weird how the movies portray it as almost rural and on a lake, it's a canal and probably 1/4th of an acre lot, maybe less.

I live 15 minutes away from this house and just driving past it give me chills. But probably I was influenced by the stories of it all. Seems to me the hauntings may be exaggerated if not completely false. Even more sad is we’re never going to truly know what happened to The DeFeo family.

St Charles cemetery in Farmingdale NY, is where they are buried. Not New Jersey. I used to work there and to pass by their graves always gave me an eerie feeling.

I go to school in Farmingdale, NY, which is a town 20 minutes away from Amityville. Just earlier this night, the night of the publication of this comment, I drove over to 112 Ocean Ave to see the house for myself. It’s funny how normal everything looked. A dog was strolling on the far side of a fence (the fence that faces toward the street), and there was a huge, blow-up dragon spewing smoke from its mouth perched on top of the house as a Halloween decoration. The family that lives in the house was also casually setting up other decorations as I drove by. So weird to think that these people are so undaunted in the face of the evil that occupied that house circa 50 years ago. Almost makes the house look appealing enough to live in it myself. Almost

there actually is a movie about the events leading up to the murders called the Amityville Murders that came out a few years ago based on the Defeos and Burt Young known for his role in the Rocky film series as Paulie, and was in the Amityville II that was loosely based on the Defeo family as a abusive husband/father , makes cameo appearance as well as Michael Brigante who was Ronnie Defeo's grandfather and the father of Louise Defeo

I was at Albany Med when I saw him come in the hospital he was 69 i heard an officer say the Amityville killer Is dead hearing that made me want to visit the house I’ve seen ghosts and been in a haunted house I would love to see if the paranormal occurrences in that house will scare me I doubt it but I’ll find out soon enough

My grandma lives blocks away from the real house. It's still very ominous looking, although the missing quarter moon windows take away from it somewhat.

I was just watching your Halloween video where you said you wanted to see what kind of evil would withstand acid but you said earlier in video he must have a healing factor. Depending on his healing factor yeah the acid would be destroying his body but as it's getting destroyed he'll be healing too like deadpool. He got a healing factor but can't heal his scars that's from the cancer he has. It heals enough to keep it at bay but not enough to heal it completely. That'll work as long as he's asleep but once he wakes he'll get out of the acid and come after you again. Yeah this one is a crazy story.

DeFeo didn't die in prison. He died at Albany Medical Center. I live right outside of Albany. There was an article in the local newspaper about him.
