We are alive at the dawn of human space exploration. We are alive at the same time as Elon f*cking Musk. My grand kids will ask me stories, and I will tell them that I used to see the SpaceX launches from my balcony in Florida back in 2021. (yup I see them all from my home). Used to watch Elon Musk and he used to go not too far from me. I don't even know how to describe to future generations that I lived at the same time as Elon. This is Chris's Dad and I appreciate your work ethic and concern of humanity. My kids say dad we work to live but you live to work. Now my 32 yr. old son Chris who just had a child is setting goals and said he is determined to make a certain income goal. @@jonathanman8299 I don't think you quite understand what I meant. Having a plan alone wouldn't help you much - you need money. The more money you have, the greater risks you able to take. However well intentioned you are, markets are unpredictable and sometimes your business is so far ahead of it's time that people simply don't yet understand what it is you are trying to do. In cases like the one above, unless you have unlimited capital, you could end up failing, simply because this. Now if you have money to try again, and again and again - you'll eventually make it, even if it only is because people caught up with the times and your product isn't so mind-bogglingly decades ahead of its time anymore. But most people don't have unlimited capital, in fact they borrow money to try an idea, if that idea fails, they are in huge financial distress - and cannot try again in most circumstances, because they aren't ever able to get ahead of that debt again to the point of having surplus capital to try a business again, that plus the paralyzing fear of failing a second time - and financial ruin. Again like I said, great plans don't always succeed, just like mediocre ideas sometimes make billions. There's a lot more to it than intelligence, skill, perseverance and location etcetera - and luck is a RNG...

@@justsayingguy He literally founded the company even though he was like 1 year late, he was the one who founded today's tesla, everything you know about teslas is elon's idea, (self driving, advanced software, crash security, design...) he literally participated in the initial founding, maybe he wasn't there since day one but he was there in the early creation etc... at first it was a sportscar company (tesla roadster), and there is no tesla tunnel... the tunnel is built by his other company "the boring company", what do you mean by "designed by someone else" ? every company has employees and engineers, do you think Bill Gates manually assembles computers? What is special about Elon is that he is the chief of engineering at Tesla and SpaceX so he actually gets to work on blueprints and technical problems instead of just management and "taking credit", you should take a look at what engineers at Tesla think about him (not those factory workers)

@Vakond Simple I've seen how much the majority of people work through various jobs and college. No they don't. Most people blow their money on nice clothes and substances. Most people I know don't understand why I don't have a closet of designer clothes and eat out with them all the time. Most people work 40 hours or so a week and the spend their money trying to find happiness in their average life. Others work 100+ hours and pour their life and money into their dreams. Many people is a vague term. Many people as in more than a handful; sure. But comparing that "many people" to all the working people on the planet; not a chance. Most people can't even comprehend working harder than they already do at their 40-45 hour work week.

I like Elon Musk and I'm inspired by his work ethic. I also think he's a freak of nature. There is such a thing as toxic productivity and lack of sleep/rest has been linked to dementia. Many creatives get their best ideas during downtime whilst distracted by mundane tasks. Not everybody's brain/body is built to function like this and not everybody needs to either

Came here to say this. Everyone is different, and some, like Elon, are exceptional. For a long time I wrestled with the notion that I probably will not end up being a world changer like Elon Musk, but I think it's healthy to realize that not everyone is meant to be. Many (most) of us are smaller cogs in the machine of humanity, and the machine works best when the small cogs do their small jobs well. Not everyone is destined to be an Alexander the Great, an Albert Einstein, an Elon Musk. Finding humility and your own place in humanity while still following your ambition and achieving your potential is the journey that we call life.

I worked as an IT (in many different fields such as large deployments, tech support, networking, communications, really a little bid of everything) I worked long hours and I’m available for anything I’m needed for. I love my job and that is the very important thing for me… loving your job makes it so much easier. My advice to all is if you have the opportunity to go to school do it but choose something you want or like, don’t go just for the money, you may have a high paying job but you may not enjoy or like it. To me is important to do what you love to feel that you have achieved something great not just for you but to also make a difference for others.

My Hubby and I ran a mental health counseling business. It was fairly easy to run. We hired good therapists and I did all the paperwork and billing insurances. Credentialing on as many insurance companies as were accepting new providers was our source of getting clients to help. We were able to keep it going for several years.
