It's easier to diagnose because you can abuse the dsm/icd for this trash can diagnose. The original form is much more unlikely to have than schizophrenia. I'd say 95% with this diagnose are misdiagnosed or contracted this disorder due to psychiatric malpratice before exhibiting psychotic symptoms.

I was diagnosed with schizophreniform disorder after having a psychotic break in boot camp. I have almost no memory of the actual break, but all I can really remember is gradually blacking out and losing my sense of self. I have a vague memory of agitation which led to me accidentally cutting myself with the temporary lock for my locker. Coming out of it, I remember thinking the US Army was performing experiments on my parents, and that the government was emitting microwaves in the air in order to control our brain chemistry. It was not fun. For whatever reason I craved earplugs too. The waves in the air were about as real to me, at the time, as the rest of my perceptual senses. In the psych ward apparently the nurse had said I was screaming in my room saying don’t kill my dad. I’m better now, I just still hear subtle voices in my head (primarily negative) commentating on my life.
@michaelwarner7311

What I think is truly interesting is, right off the bat. It’s psychology. So we really don’t have any concrete information other than what studies or tests tell us, and (most importantly imo) all those studies or tests only really tell us what the subjected people will tell us or what we can ascertain from them. There’s no real “fact” of psychology. Plus, who is to say that psychotic disorders aren’t exactly personality disorders. Yet here we have a distinctive separation. As if we actually know 😂😂😂
