Whichever ways happened to be beneficial to the parasites naturally caused them to survive to reproduce and have young that invaded in similar ways. I really get tired of people comparing offspring to parasites. If you have a population of creatures, and you remove all the parasites from them, the population of creatures doesn't suffer. If you remove all the offspring from a population of creatures; that population will die out. Heck the crabs in the video help highlight that the two aren't the same. Both the eggs and the barnacle require parental care, but there is a reason one is considered a parasite and not the other. The eggs are the next generation, carrying the genes of the host crab and continuing the species. The barnacles completely removes the hosts ability to procreate, and creates a new generation that will disable more crabs. If the barnacles were to infect all the crabs; they would cause the extinction of them both.

Wanna know a fun fact? Every single human being on earth has had a parasitic infection at least once in their life. Even you. The most interesting one for me comes from pigs.
