I'm looking forward to getting mine in the mail soon. I had a lot of problems with the Athom one resetting and not reading correctly. Everything I read about this one seems like it's much higher quality

Yes, I agree and the shipping is pretty fast too! It seems this company is putting allot of effort into writing better software to control it too!

FYI the BH1750 is a light sensor not the MMWave

Yea they are using the LD2410B sensor with a BH1750 light sensor. I have a D1 Form factor ESP32 with a LD2410C mmWave sensor i built myself which works very well. I think i paid 3.50 for the mmWave sensor and 6.50 for the D! form factor ESP32 and about 2 for the small project box its in. Of course you have to put it together yourself so there is that. 😁 I'm working on a Multi-sensor with a LD2410C, BME280 and a BH1750 sensors in it.

@@simonsayshomeassistant Yes if you want to keep the price down it very much is. Although this one's price wise is not all that bad compared to the Aqara FP1 and FP2. I bought one of the FP1's when they first came out and about a week ago it stopped working. Tried everything to get it working again but no luck. The nice thing about making your own is if it craps out you can just replace the sensor or the micro controller that stopped working and your back in business. That's why i'm putting the parts plugged into headers. Makes the project somewhat larger but easy to fix.

@@geesharp6637 I put this in a project box but even after drilling holes for the BME280 and the BH1750 sensors the BME280 temp/humidity sensor readings was wrong so as you can see in the config i built lambda math functions so i could adjust the humidity and temp readings. If you don't need that you can remove them.

This is a much more DIY type device than FP2. It has some great features and the team are upgrading the software on a regular basis. It can sense 3 people in a room vs 5 on the FP2

NVM the whole thing is essentially useless.. I'm not trying to be a jerk but I'm just sick of all the videos (about smart homes but also all of YT.. and elsewhere) that have nothing substantial in them... Or, anything salient is sprinkled amidst all the redundancy and filler (which is great because it makes it into a treasure hunt!)
