The Mrs and I were lucky enough to meet Dolph Lundgren at a con in Melbourne, Australia in 2015. He was the nicest and kindest guy you could imagine. I was able to say everything that I’d been waiting nearly 30 years to say in about 12 seconds without fanboying out on him. I told him he’d always be He-man to me and that he was perfectly cast. I thanked him for the memories and for being my hero all these years. He seemed genuinely appreciative and signed my MOTU movie poster. He even remembered us later on when we crossed paths again and said he said hi. He was every part the He-man I’d always hoped he’d be. They say don’t meet your heroes in case you’re disappointed, but they weren’t talking about Dolph Lundgren. :)

Watching He-man speak is oddly endearing. It's like he's trying really hard and is pleased with his progress.

I clearly haven't seen this movie since before elementary school, and you've almost convinced me to watch it again just for laughs.

Plot twist, Dolph Lundgren is ridiculously smart in real life. He has a Master's degree in chemical engineering.

Dispite the low quality of the movie (still one of my childhood favorites) the soundtrack was great and deserves praise for it being way better than it should be.

I just find it funny that Skelator's face prosthetic from this film was reused for a Holodeck character that Worf fights in Star Trek TNG.

Frank Langella's Skeletor is so awesome in this. He knocks the other actors off the screen with his intensity. And it is not easy to knock Meg Foster out of my brain, she has those hypnotic witch eyes.

When I was a kid the holy trinity of 80s fantasy was Legend, Krull and Masters of the Universe

They put Frank Langella under pounds of prosthetics to make him look like Jack Palance.

Masters of the Universe is to He-Man what Batman 89 is to Batman. A pretty cool movie that doesn't resemble the source material that much. The end fight was absolutely epic though.

3:50 Trivia: The after credits scene wasn't in the screenplay. It was director Gary Goddard's idea. Gary Goddard had BOSS Studios prepare a vat of pink liquid. Goddard talked to Frank Langella and told him what he wanted him to do and that he was to get into the pink liquid wearing his skull mask and he was to surface, look at the camera and say the line "I'll be back!". Frank Langella agreed to do it and it was done in 1 take.

This movie was great. I'm a big fan of He-man and I could understand the limitations they faced to make this movie. I know it hadn't almost anything related to the series, but it was more related to the HQ. I think they made they come to Earth because it was cheaper to film and it would make a but more compelling (although I would prefer Eternia but, well.. money talks)

This movie is great, no one will ever convince me otherwise.
