True, battles can be short or last a long time, but either way soldiers aren't supposed to be battling for more than a few hours at a time. Also it isn't economical to give full armor (extra weight and need for more battery life) to every foot soldier. Realistically they should have spent a little more resources in training and equipping for more aerial assault strikes since the area is overrun with aliens anyway.

For anyone confused on why the reset happened earlier at the end, it’s because of WHEN Cage got the power. The first time, he got the power on the day of the battle. The second time, after they defeated the Omega, he got the power 12 hours earlier before the battle is suppose to take place. The power reset 24 hours, so placing it in those two timeline, you can see how Cage ended up back at the helicopter at the end.

I was often taking a bus that had movies in the seat-back monitors with limited English-language selections (Student Agency), and Edge of Tomorrow was my go-to movie. I watched it probably 6-8 times without getting sick of it.

I'd just like to point out that Tom Cruise is 21 years older than Emily Blunt. They look like they could be the same age. Anyway, this is one of my all time favorite movies. Great concept, great execution, great performances. And awesome visual effects. Whoever designed the Mimics, I hope they got a raise, because they look incredible.

You missed the chance to say that his line "I'm not even trained for combat" was the silliest dialogue in the whole movie! The man's been training his entire film career.

ok sure another great trailer for a great movie but the most impressive thing here was your Dr. Claw voice at the end - a PERRRRFECT Frank Welker impersonation! Brought back sssoooo many good memories of the 80's...thank you!

Pretty much all female characters in Tom Cruise last few years are like that. Badass af, but not through the method of shitting on the protagonist. Ilsa, Phoenix in Maverick.

I think I saw this on a flight (it's been ages since I last took one!), and really enjoying the premise of the plot. It felt like playing the latest third person shooter, trying to do a little bit better each time, before inevitably dying and needing to replay the level. It was only after the film finished that I started to question how the plot does break down in parts... but I certainly enjoyed the ride

The ending is explained by the nature of the alien power. The Alpha resets 24 hours on death creating the loop when Tom Cruise fought it the first time this set the loop for 24 hours prior to that moment. When Tom Cruise gets the blood transfusion and loses the alien power the loop was broken but he still had not reached that point in time. When Tom Cruise and his team kill the big brain thing it is still the day before the original attack on the beach. He is exposed to the alien blood and loops back 24 hours to the day preceding his arrival in the camp although the exact amount of time he loops back this time may be greater due to the blood being from the giant brain rather than an Alpha.
