References to Ice Age 3: 3:17 reference to Rudy's first physical appearance, when he leaves the cave to attack the protagonists. 3:57 reference to the scene where Sid accidentally breaks the ropes holding Rudy and Rudy opens his eyes. 4:37 reference to the scene where Rudy throws Buck in the air and almost devours him, but Diego saves Buck. 5:12 reference to the scene in which sid is lying on the ground cornered by rudy, however, when rudy is about to attack, momma dino appears and attacks rudy. 6:04 again

Got to love how these are not just mindless power ups and that the kaiju actually fight according to scaling, it's really rare these days to see such a big animator not making his favorite intensionaly more powerful, thanks man !

I like to think that part 5 is not canon to this miniseries, because I think it just exists in Rudy's imagination after he was easily knocked out by 2017 Kong from the real world and the fact that Rudy just almost keep getting knocked out by 2005 Kong and getting kicked like a football by 2017 Kong in part 4 (which existed in the real world) makes me really think that Rudy had made up his fight against 2017 Kong in his own imagination, where he imagined himself that he would become big and strong as 2017 Kong. So, yeah, I think Part 5 is all just Rudy's imagination after he just got knocked out easily by 2017 Kong, but, if it's not Rudy's imagination, then 2017 Kong's size and power got hugely nerfed in order to give Rudy a fighting chance. and if we are to consider Part 5 to be Rudy's imagination, then it would technically be 8 parts that existed in the real world, with Rodan vs 2017 Kong being part 5, 2024 Kong vs Rodan being part 6, King Ghidorah vs Kong and Rodan being part 7, and Shimo vs King Ghidorah being part 8 and everything stays the same.

I love this! This kind of reminds me of a video I saw about the making of Kong skull Island. Apparently in the original draft when you have the two World War II fighter pilots landing on skull Island, the first creature they were supposed to run into was the 2005 Peter Jackson King Kong. in both pilots were going to be stunned at the size of this giant monster, but then one of the 100 foot long skull crawlers was going to come kill the Peter Jackson king Kong and the skull crawler would just dwarf him size. Just to let you know that things in this universe are bigger. But they decided not to do that, which is probably a good thing because it wasn’t going to be done to disrespect the Peter Jackson King Kong but I think a lot of people would’ve taken it that way.
