I think its a irony that ,of all fighters, these two meet, because they are both probadly the most underrated in the entire division. So a win for either of them, Brady or Gastelum, wont do that much in terms of prestige compared to the high risk they take. I think this is a bad matchmaking by the ufc, they should put these two against high rated guys like JDM and Ian Machado. Would have been a better matchup for both Kelvin and Sean.

No shame losing to the underated Belal but Sean's biggest nemesis is his inactivity from his injuries. He's made little to no progress on his striking nor on his cardio; it's as if he has no benchmark to work from. I think the undeafated record hyped him up too much given he's fought very weak opponents. On this matchup, Sean Brady isn't even a natural wrestler; he's more like a stronger BJJ player and gets his takedowns from pure strength. I say this as a fan of his but the UFC did him no favors with the Kelvin match up. He's definitely not going to take him down because of the cardio expenditure and i think he also has a hard cut like Kelvin. I am expecting calf-kicks all day and i think Kelvin will have the better tactics given the prestige of his team. I think a loss would probably do Brady a favor if he keeps him fighting. Dude needs about 3 fights a year to work on his distance and timing.

Brady is confusing as a fighter. He *seems* to me like a wrestler - I sorta "compartmentalize" him in my head in the same "folder" as lightweights Gamrot, or Gillespie (back in the day). Just the way he carries himself, the vibe he gives, his ears, his intensity and confidence, the way he fights. Basically fits that classic mold of a really high level wrestler, full of determination to be champ, that many view as a dark horse. Yet what I find "confusing" about him is, he technically *isn't* a wrestler like those other guys. Despite the vibe he gives off and the way he fights. He's actually got great jiu jitsu - that's *technically* his "formal" background in grappling. He's defeated legit guys in BJJ competition (forget who, but I remember being like "oh damn, he beat HIM?!"). And moreover, his "actual" background as a FIGHTER - like, his initial entry into martial arts in his youth - is striking. Muay Thai, specifically. So he's actually just an overall, well-rounded fighter, who HAPPENS to have hiiigh level takedowns and ground game. Seems to me, viewing him as a "grappler" isn't actually accurate. He's just a beast everywhere, who's notable victories HAPPEN to involve lots of grappling. Casuals (and even legit fans) certainly compartmentalize him as a wrestler or grappler like I did - but he's a legit threat on the feet against anyone. He certainly suffers from "dark horse" syndrome, and flies under a lot of people's radars despite his success and skill level. No doubt the traction lost as a result of his recent loss to Belal will be hard to overcome - especially to fans - but there are big names he can beat. He's a guy to watch out for, no doubt.
