No multiplayer but in a single player setting could work. We do need more multiplayer rougelikes/lites but not everyone should be multiplayer accessable

I don't know if it was because of the extra bullet you had in the chamber, but in a video someone else made the book survived and in the ending picture the pawn held the book

Yeah, it was because he had an extra bullet in the chamber. In the other video, there wasn't a part talking about how he had his shotgun already loaded.

What always fascinated me - is how chess names differ from culture to culture. In Russia for example bishop is elephant and the knight is (male) horse.

I know Japanese, English, Irish, and Bahasa Indonesia. Here is the interesting things about chess pieces in each languages: ・Japanese uses the same names as English for all chess pieces, except they're all written in Katakana. They're just transcripted, not translated. ・Bahasa Indonesia refers to Bishop as *Gajah* which literally translates to *Elephant,* and to Knight as *Kuda* which literally translates to *Horse.* They refer to Queen as *Mentri (Minister).* Also, they refer to Rook as *Benteng* which literally means *Fort.* ・Similar to Bahasa Indonesia, Irish refers to Rook as *Caiseal* which roughly means *Fort.* ・Nobody really know what *Rook* (the word) actually mean. People theorised that it is a *Siege Tower* and some think that it is a *Chariot* (I remember reading about it in a book written by Chinese person whom I forgot the name of). But nobody is sure about it. There's Rook bird, but it is not what the chess Rook was named after, though.

@城塚Chie The Rook in Russian variant very often called "ladyja" which is an old type of ship. While queen called as Ferz - persian word for Vizier. We learn something interesting each day)

Well, in Polish: The rook is just a Tower Bishop is... I guess Runner? Or maybe more like a Chaser Knight is Jumper Also our name for pawn comes from our name for vertical direction, so it would be something like a vertic?

I think all you need to unlock the Black Bishop Boss fight is the Red Book and a living Bishop at the end of the king fight: saw another video where the guy thought you needed the Ritual Dagger and the Black Book, so I think the Theocracy stuff was just bonus

I wish there was an ending where there could be peace between the two sides... The Black King would be repentant, and the white pieces would end the war with him, and create the Grey army. That'd be really nice. Additionally, perhaps this would require some of the same cards as for the secret boss fight, but also Gradual Absolution, for fairly obvious reasons. I dunno, what do you guys think?

I killed the final boss while having the book and created a bishop through a pawn promotion, but I didn't get the secret ending. So either the promoted pawn doesn't count, or you do need ascension as well. Either way, thanks for the video Edit: I read some of the recent patch notes and it seems they have added an additional condition to get to the Black Bishop boss fight.
