Lai were the first inhabitants of kangleipak In Meetei/Meitei/Meethei manuscript it is written that Lai were the first inhabitants of kangleipak present day Manipur... Today Meetei still practicing Lai harouba ( halouba) festival and rituals... Meetei worship Lai Ningthou Sanamahi and Lai malen Sitapi in every households...

We Chin-Kuki-Mizo don't believe it. And we will never be. We are the descendants of Zo not Lai. We are Chhinlung Chhuak. Chin-Kuki-Mizo are brothers and sisters.

Lai tribe of mizoram are tibeto Burman and Lai (kathe Shan) are tai Just like there are Korean Han and Chinese Han , there are tibeto Burman lai and Tai lai

Korean Han and Chinese Han are different Similarly Manipuri lai and mizo lai are different 🙂

We lai people,mizo people never ever worship men made idol....even before we became achristian we never ever worship idol...

In Meetei manuscript it is written that Lai were the first inhabitants of kangleipak(Manipur)...From Lai seven clans of Meetei were form and it is called yek salai(sa=flesh.Sa-Lai=sons of Lai) Meetei still practicing Lai harouba ( halouba)/Lam Lai(Lai Lam) harouba festival,dance and rituals...Lai Ningthou Sanamahi and Lai Malen Sitapi are Meetei's household God and goddess...In Meetei language Lai means god or the first inhabitants of kangleipak... According to Meetei mythology human originated from kaupalu/ kaubru mountain ranges... Kaupalu mountain ranges were the place where Gods, human and Demi gods live together...They were Lai,Tin, Kang,Mi(Mee),Tin Muu/Mau,Lai Muu and Saloi Ngaloi (Saroi Ngaroi) etc. Meetei never worship idol...Idol worshipping started in Manipur from 15th century...In Manipur you will find two types of ancestors worshipping one is Lai Ningthou (Lai+Ning+thou) group and other is Eputhou( E+Pu+thou) group.

We called books as Lai-rik/Lai-Lik...we called painting as Lai-yek/Lai-yekpa...we called our language as Lai-rol/ Lai-lol...we called Meetei scripts as Lai-yek(Meetei mayek)...Old Meetei called kangleipak as Lai-Lam/Lai-Ram,Tin-Lam/Til Lam/Thil-Lam,Kang-Lam/khong-Lam etc...The word "Lai" were put to all ancient kings's name of Meetei...In Manipur there were many village name as Lairam/LaiLam khul... Meetei virgin ladies were called Laisapi(Lai+sa+pi)/Nula/Nura/Cha-NuLa/Cha-Nu... Meetei temple were called Lai Shang...we called important place of God and Demi-god as Lai-pham,Tin-pham...we called water as Lai-jaa/E-sing...we called doll as Lai-phatipi...we called prayer as Lai-sol,Tin-sol etc...
