Some ideas I thought of. When call recipient pick up, wait 2-3 seconds and have speech synthesis announce why call is made. Then detect tones. Dial 1 to hear conversation, 2 to get GPS coords spoken if available (then have option to text them, this is helpful if GPS not found earlier, or announce nearby address). If multiple buttons, one can be medical sos, another car trouble sos, another "miscellaneous" sos (for the unexpected), another maybe simple location update. Just some random ideas

Excellent project. I have a suggestion: instead of a dedicated power switch, the SOS push button can be used as a soft latch power switch with just two transistor/mosfets. Then after a couple of minutes the watchdog timer of the the microcontroller can be used to either switch off the device completely or the system would enter into a deep sleep mode.

It would be better if you could set the SOS number by using a SMS and a password. Therefore, if you need to change the number, you do not need to program all over again.
