So, Ever Crisis just gave Young Sephiroth impressive feats to pile on the ones he already has. From just his intro cutscene alone, he took down an entire platoon of armed soldiers in an instant. You don't even see him actually move his arm, he just slices an RPG in mid-flight and took down his enemies before his team even realized what happened, while also slicing their armored vehicles in half within that same window without being near them. And in this time period, he doesn't even have the Masamune and its blade is significantly much shorter in length. His magic is still potent enough to the point where he can also destroy an entire backup squad and their armored vehicles with just a single Firaga spell and raze an entire forest to the ground in the process. And Sephiroth's team? They're all SOLDIER too

I'd love to see a remaster--match, considering how much time has passed.

Vergil, as we know, requires 3 criteria in order to be challenged: 1) Heal your wounds 2) Get Strong 3) Settle the matter Sephiroth had met those criteria.

Very good fictional comparison, and I'd agree up until this point in both these franchises (OG + AC + CC Sephiroth v DMC3 Vergil). However, I think another rematch would be fun as hell once (and if) we see their final peak forms and powers when both DMC and FF7 series' ends.

As much as I love Devil May Cry and know how busted Vergil is, I knew there's no way he could win. Sephiroth didn't even need to use his strongest attack, though it would have ended the fight in literally two hits. (I'm referring to the one that sets the entire party to 1 HP. If used it would cause the show to be incredibly boring as the fight would end in like... 12 seconds.)

So, just wanted to add a quick little update here, the Complex Multiversal rating for DMC is about to get removed due to PoC removing all of the lore pages in the new beta (this includes statements like Pluto being able to move fast enough to bypass the time-axis, Pluto’s spear being able to warp time and space, Nightmare being able to lift and destroy the entire structure of the Underworld, and all but the lowest level of demons being able to recover from destruction of their body, souls, even their very concepts), and this will stay unless PoC decides to re-add them in the next one. So that’s fun… looks like people aren’t gonna be able to fall back on the Complex Multi stuff for long.

Ur take on zack is actually not accurate. Zack has NO Jenova cells at all. Zack is a human who was injected with mako to enhance his abilities and grant him a better affinity to using materia. Zack is a full human with only mako infusion. The only unhuman thing about him is his small amount of Cetra in his blood. In Crisis Core, the only three to have jenova cells are Sephiroth, Angeal, and Genesis. The only three to experience degredation. Zack however never degraded, never suffered from any genetic disposition because he was born human and enfused with mako when joining SOLDIER. Degredation was a failure in genetic code from the destructive force of being given Jenova cells before birth. However, of the three, Sephiroth never suffered the same amount of degredation because unlike the small amount of jenova cells that was exposed to Angeal and Genisis, he was given so much jenova cells that even whrn the cells degraded, it was replaced with jenova cells, essentially healing him. The calamity (Jenova) was the biggest source of his power. Zack was powerful as a SOLDIER, but nothing compared to Sephiroth. Around 3/4 of the game CRISIS CORE, Zack struggled to become First Class, even being unmatched to Angeal and Genesis. Until very late game. By that time, the jenova cells had degraded and messed up genisis so much, it pracfically weakened him. Ultimately, Zack falls to Shinra Troops on his way to return to Shinra. By this time, hed already been first class for a while tho. Im happy tht u pronounced Mako properly tho. Usually ppl say mako like "may-co" and its awful. Id say everything was pretty correct but u mixed up a few things about zack. Sorry. Im a FF7 fanatic😅

It's never the Supernova that kills you. It's always the Shadow Flare afterward.

Fun Fact: Sephiroth never uses his dominant hand to fight. He's right handed but he only uses his left. He does this to show his dominance in a fight.

I think a rematch would be good. Not only because of DMC5 and FF7R (I think it'd be better to wait until all the parts are released, though), but because this battle is missing some of Seph's iconic attacks. Sure, Supernova is memorable as his ultimate move, but Octoslash is a testament to Sephiroth's speed, and Heartless Angel would instantly leave any enemy at the verge of death (it drops anything to 1 HP, as seen in OG FF7, FF7R and Kingdom Hearts). And, if theories about FF7R are to be believed, then Sephiroth could even disrupt causality and time continuum, staying undefeated in Advent Children (but all this remains to be seen when FF7R is completed). ... Also, Sephiroth is mainly left-handed. Or, if he's ambidexterous, he mostly wields Masamune with his left hand. And, despite all that, I'd say his biggest weakness is he always underestimates his enemies, which is why Sakaguchi said Sephiroth didn't fought at full strength in AC. If you pay attention, he never puts real effort in his fights, and you could argue it's either because he ultimately wants to lose, or because he is so used to overpower his enemies, he doesn't even know how to fight at full power anymore.

Illusions or not, he still fought off at least 5 Sephiroth's at once. That's surely badass in my book.

Link beats Cloud, Cloud beats Sephiroth, Sephiroth beats Vergil, Vergil is equal to or greater than Dante, Dante beats bayonetta, so Link stomps all of them with bombs and arrows....seems legit lol.
