One of the most honest heartfelt reactions to anyone's passing I've ever witnessed. Two dynamic players that defined an entire generation of basketball. They both inspired so many and touched so many in their lives. They had their differences yes but they put that behind them because the legacy outweighed the beef and the respect was always paramount with both men. There will never be another Kobe Bryant the same way there'll never be another Shaquille O'Neal. And I'm blessed to have lived during both their lifetimes and witnessed their greatness. Regret after someone's passing is extremely powerful. All the things we wish we said to a person but we were too stubborn or too busy to do it really stabs you in the heart. My grandmother passed away from Dementia and my dad called telling me that I should stop by to see her before she passes because we don't know how many more days she has, but I was really busy with work and couldn't make it over. She passed that night and I regret not being there, I regret not being able to tell her I loved her one last time, she might not have remembered me in her final moments on the surface, but I know she was still inside of that shell of a human that Dementia creates and it hurts knowing I couldn't say something one last time. Luckily I have so many amazing memories with her and without her I wouldn't be the man I am today. Those things weigh on you for a really long time and it takes a lot of strength to get passed it.
