Put into perspective how massive Phil's midsection was when thinking Rhoden's waist was bigger in 2018 than 2013 and it still looked so tiny and aesthetic.

Rhoden had some of the most complete lower bodies of all time. Maybe not the biggest but one of the best detail, separation (especially from the side) and shape. His quad shape was second to none, only Keone and maybe bryan jones have similar shapes.

Chest and shoulders definitely thicker in 2018. Much more complete whilst still being aesthetic.

RIP Shawn "Flexatron" Rhoden🙏🏽🕊 With that being said, the stars were aligned in 2018. Shawn's physique, specifically his Arms, was starting to melt. He simply brought the best condition of his career that weekend, which happened to be good enough to beat a very good Phil Heath (minus his runaway abdomen). Shawn had finished 2nd to Phil a couple of years prior, and all Shawn needed to do that year (2018) was bring his very best combination of conditioning and dryness along with his God given genetics (exxellent abs and tiny waist, which he 100% did. That was enough to dehtrone the worst version of Phil Heath's career, while earning Shawn the coveted title of Mr Olympia that had eluded him for so many years! Hats off to Shawn and Chris Aceto (his coach) for both strategizing and executing a master plan! 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼

I’ve been saying for years that Shawn was bigger and fuller in earlier years. I think 11-15 are all pretty comparable. 18 was by far his best. He was conditioned but flat and legs don’t have that pop that detail. Aceto’s over dieting approach. Very happy to see this comparison

His 2013 was one of my favorites.

I prefer 2018 in all the shots after the front double and front lat. He just carries more size, completeness, and of course conditioning. Even that ab and thigh his waist is wider, but the lats are thicker and abs are deeper (lighting may contribute too). His 2013 shape was nuts though.

I never thought he should have won in 18. Phil might have had a more bloated midsection at the time..BUT still smoked everyone..

As a shawn fan, my fav version is 2017 arnold europe version. Even if we're just using Olympia videos like in this video, i like 2018's conditioning, but I like a "fresher" looking shawn

Couple other years are really good too. 2012, 2014-2017 all amazing showings for him. Granted he, along with many others at the time started to have a little bubble guts during transitions of those last few years

R.i.p. i unfortunately wasnt much of a fan until i saw how he handled the controversy or people criticizing his shape in the off season. Its a shame we didnt get to see him defend the title

That midsection of Shawn at the 2018 o just threw me off. It wasn’t a bubble gut and he was shredded but it just looked slightly bloated?

I never understood the 18 win. Yes, Phil was not at his best but still far ahead and in certain shots/transitions his belly was not under control at all.

Shawn is my favorite open class Mr O winner. His shape was awesome and his structure was such a sight to see. The O did him dirty in 19.

bodybuilder's calves get worse into their careers, Rhoden's only got better. But we do know a lot of it had to do with pinched nerves when training back and Rhoden was notorious for not doing those kinds of heavy lifts for his back that would cause those injuries.

I always thought Shawn looked his best from 2013-2015 then started to drop after that! If Sean looked like the 2013 version at the 2018 mr o then I’d have happily accepted his win to Phil but Shawn only got that win because Phil was on the downward of his career, bit like when jay finally beat Ronnie, he said no way would I ever beat Ronnie at his best! And imo no one to this day would beat Ronnie at his best! Phil might give him a run

His arms are literally twice as big in 2013😮 and his lats tapered way lower from the front😮 midsection better, quads the same😮 way better version!

His legs were best. Quads goat. Tri and bi were weak. Overall flow was good. I think Phil should have won , but I understand the change of judgement.
