I would have panicked! Imagine if it had been a person traveling alone and housekeeping wasn’t going to come in until the next day. And imagine the person had medications they couldn’t do without for 24 hours. Or had a heart condition and wound up having a heart attack over the stress and fear of the situation. Imagine they got in the shower thinking “I need to poop, but I can hold it til I get out the shower”…..😳

According to the comment the shower has another entrance that you can only go but you can’t go out. Not sure why they make something like that.

I would have waited as long as I could for the maid. If hours turn into a maybe a day with no one coming in the room, I would have wrapped the towel over my hands, try to stand back and push the door down... possibly break it off the hinges. Even if the glass shattered, its better to get cut vs being stuck for even longer... possibly days.

Read other comments to get answer. Basically, it's an "in" swinging door. When she pushed "out" past the door jamb to get out, she couldn't pull the seal back through.

The plastic fell in the hinge slot. The pull out. But if she pulled hard enough. She could have just snapped them

Years ago, when I was overweight, my landlord installed a new shower, a very small shower. Probably the smallest one I've ever seen. I was bent over, scrubbing my feet and one of my long fingernails slipped into one of the drain slots. I was bent over with my nail stuck and I couldn't get it out! Being a big person,, I barely had room. No one was home and hubby wasn't due home for another 6 hours. I couldn't get to a phone or clothes. Glass door so I couldn't cover up with the shower curtain. After trying to break my nail, soap it out, I had to start banging real loud on the floor and started screaming. Thank goodness my landlord's wife was home, thank goodness it just wasn't him, she heard me and came in, she threw me a towel, tried to get it out, she couldn't either so she got nail clippers and cut my nail. I don't think I've ever been so embarrassed!

​@@BessieBess Best explanation I saw is that it's an "inward" swinging door, and when she pushed it "outward", she wasn't able to pull it back "inward" because the seal was hitting the door jamb and was too hard to pull past it in that direction.

@@cabonara1843 But if men are so much smarter why’d they install the shower or at least the door incorrectly? You know it’s 99% chance a guy did that. Whatever happened, it’s the hotel that’s responsible for anything that goes wrong in one of their rooms, and it’s their responsibility to fix it.

Think about it for a second... She got in somehow and I doubt she climbed over the toilet to do so, so it's not the design it's a malfunction of the door.

My husband just explained to me that if it was never used before, the door could have been opened toward the inside but once she pushed it out, it couldn’t go back inward. He works in stuff like remodels sometimes so his explanation could be valid 😂

No it's even simpler than that.. the seal is what stops the door... The seal is also loose and flexible.. push too hard and the seal pops "through" and now you either give it a push or get stuck cause ur to dumb
