That is a good question. That is ISU's new rules. Before, if 3 skater from the same country would never be in the same semifinal group. However, new rules changed that. I found it unfair as well.

You know Fontana and not this Chinese skater only because you don't follow the sport. Jianrou has more gold medals in world championships than both Fontana and Christie.

Try NOT to use words like ‘This champion’ and respect the winner. At least, appear in Olympic FINAL prove herself already,beause 500m was her first attempt (Most of her medals 1000 &1500m). Li 1985 is older than Fontana 5 years, she retired just a year later, then got married. Hope this info can help you.
