I have mixed feelings about the political and other related issues related to racing in SA but I’m confused as to how it’s economically sustainable based on attendance, and I’m not confident that attendance will increases dramatically (but maybe I’m dead wrong). Or maybe the country is happy to operate the race at a loss.

The best track to watch on TV because the camera positionings show the sheer speed of the cars. Very exciting. But telecasts from the purpose built wide tracks put one to sleep because the cars look so slow by virtue of the camera angles, and the fact that there are too few cars, this results in the cars being spread out at equal intervals.

Keep usings good words like “bemused” and “enthralling”! Lol i love it❤

Kym, having spent many nights in Saudi Arabia as a guest, i can't fault their passion to assist, make your stay enjoyable. If you look close enough every country has dark parts in their history. I was there at the opening race at Jeddah, when the attack happened. Having travelled extensively, Saudi Arabia is in my top 5 countries, and Jeddah also.

Sometimes countries relations improve with sporting events. Which can lead to positive changes in that country.

Posing a question and then citing all the positive things the Saudis are buying to sway public opinion seems like a bit of a loaded question. First 2 minutes sounds like you are being paid if I am being honest. I am almost certain you are not.. but if listing all the positives (purchased good will), perhaps list some of the aspects of the human rights issues at hand as well. IF you are bringing up the debate... be fair about how you present it.

My concern is how the middle east control the beginning and the end of the season. The last race of the year should be a different venue every year and to be true so should the first race also. Always starting and finishing in the same place is boring and predictable.

The new proposed track feels so gimmicky. I actually prefer the current circuit

the saudi track has been one of the best addition, its probably the best implementation of the street circuit theory (somthn baku fails at i think), high speed turns, close to the walls and the flow coupled awesome camera angles, really makes the drivers look good.
