I’ve always been a shy, rather dependent girl. Me & my X broke up after 7 years. He wouldn’t come back to me. I moved from London to my hometown. I left my job. I didn’t know what was next for me. I was debating backpacking the world with what little money I had left. This song pushed me to do it. I stood up in my Grandmothers bedroom one night. She had recently passed away & I was staying in her room. High on sniff, I sang, I danced & I left. I traveled, I grew stronger. I had the best time of my life & I was finally free from my addictions. I lost my sister recently due to covid. I honestly don't think anyone will or would understand that bond we had. Not even my other siblings. I mean it's different for everyone. But ours was special. She was my ride or die. Anyways, this song reminds me of when she would always tell me, "You can do anything." I feel like I can't get over this and I won't be able to let go, but hearing this song, and being reminded of her saying this to me, gives me hopes again after losing it with her. Maybe this is why she doesn't come visit me in my dreams, and only other relatives, cause she knows it's hard on me. Being strong for everyone is hard, holding back my tears just so my little siblings stay strong, being the older sister now, making sure my mom is alright, helping my dad out with hardware stuff. I even wanted to take my own life, just to be with her again, to see her, and to feel her warmth. I felt like I didn't have a purpose without her, nothing else mattered but being with her. This song helps me find my way again, showing the path I got to go in, but it's hard. Maybe this is why she doesn't come to see me, to get stronger going down that path. I love you, Maria.

i’m at the lowest of my life, i watch the wall till 8am every night to let myself sleep, i am too scared to get a psychologist but i know what i have. i thought about taking my life away many times, but i know i can’t do it. my mother could never go through it, she’s already fighting too many battles on her own.

i grew up in a private school with many friends, but i changed to a public school for middle school and i lost my friends. i didn’t have anyone. i was lost. and as a freshman in high school currently, i still don’t have any friends or anyone to talk to. from 6th grade to now (9th) i’ve had nobody. i could talk to my parents, but it’s harder since their older. i’m lost. this song is my best friend. it gives me happiness and so much more than a friend could ever give me, even if i’m lonely. music is powerful. music impacts. thank you sia. ❤️

This song expresses deep sadness and hopelessness on an emotional level (and at the same time compassion and understanding), while telling you, you can do everything. In a way wich is convincing because its authentic. I remember feeling exactly this kind of sadness (depression and anxiety, deep hopelessness and fear), many times as a child. Never give up.

woow this song brought tears to my eyes because it reminded me so much of my grandma who passed away 2 weeks ago and she tried to be strong to survive but the effect I on beat her and i begged god for one more day in my life with her just like the lyrics say. and she used to always tell me you can do anything 🙏✊💕💔
