Many people introduce wooden vise on youtube. However, many people are making vise in more difficult ways. This wooden vice is a very simple structure. You will understand if you try...

Nice Work ! i’m a retired Woodworker that suffered a Major Stroke in my 40s that BrainInjury left me partially paralyzed in my left Limbs so i now only have my right hand to do everything i need to do luckily the 35 years of Woodworking taught me how to develop Jigs and use Clamps my youngest child who knows me very well and how my mind works always gives me thoughtful gifts that may be a little out of the ordinary for some people some of those have been smaller Quick Grips and she knows that i’ve found lots of uses for a cheap IrwinDrillPress Clamp i’ve bolted down to my desk i’ll clamp small pill bottles or glass jars wrapped in a towel to open the Child proof lids with my one good hand or something similiar making a nice Wood Clamp like yours will be even more helpfull in my daily life BTW for last Christmas she gave me a Made inChina Jewlers or Watchmakers Vise that is basically the same style just scaled down in size i do like working on Watches as a Hobby and today i used the little Vise for several hours to hold medication Tablets packaged individually on a card with a plastic cover and AluminumFoil backing to make it easier to get the pills out i Clamp the packaging tightly and cut them out with a pair of Scissors in my one good hand ! i’ve figured where to cut the packaging and the Pill just falls out the Wood is a different style of gripping objects and i like the idea that i can easily machine, modify ,or repair it with tools i’ve been using for years

Elegant build. Your shop must be interesting with the panel saw and the forked clamp (as well as all the shop built items). Question: what did you use to secure the captive nut to the end of the threaded rod? Did you consider drilling through the nut and into the bar for a self tapping screw?

To a true craftsman, there is no such thing as "scrap"! This is a very creative tool solution where the main cost is the craftsman's time. It could easily be customized for different sizes or applications. As always, I am in awe of your imagination and attention to detail.

Love this. Light weight and simple, with very little parts needed. This makes me realize just how little hardwood I have in my shop. Good thing I have a bunch of oak logs in my wood shed that are long since dry. Time for me to see if I have any that are free of splits that I can cut down with a chainsaw and mill up on my table saw. Also I'm curious about your slide saw, what looks like a vertical panel saw, and your drill press. I want to build a drill press since I sold mine off years ago when I moved and I've yet to replace it. I've gone to buy a few but they turned out to be worn and sloppy. Also I have no use anymore for my corded drill after I got my lithium ion drills, so a drill press would be perfect for it. I just wonder about how downward pressure is achieved, although it looks like yours is half tubed.. Well I guess I'll go see if you have a video on that too.
