I think having just AI-nature commentary (*) is perfect for this channel. I guess we'll see even more life-like AI systems in the future and then this kind of commentary is even more fitting. (*) That is, commentary about nature of AI systems, not AI generated commentary on nature.

My father, at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests, worked on 3D large-scale forest simulations (based on national data). He had designed a new, more accurate, algorithm that could predict their behavior for over a century that could be computed in a few hours on a few workstations, in contrast to the previous algorithms who ran for weeks on a supercomputer. This was in the early 2000s. We have come a long way!

There was a thought i had last night on a game creation technique in gmod that was used to put 2,000 or something universes together and made a map and people can explore but it’s slow and you need around 18-200 gigs of memory. I was thinking that what if we saved the data like compression and then when loading into the next area, the info is retrieved and the stuff not active is compressed or even disassembled into its basics. Kinda like the visual details being removed when not in line of sight. Getting to the point, seeing your video made me think of combining that with a simulation to get something like real life and how we have reality in this form but it’s a disassembled version of the future or any other potential so we assemble the path through the details. Creating something is just finding it really. Nobody is making anything and they’re just listening to the details of reality to find things and pull them to the current. So the simulated events like these could be more in depth and accurate because things won’t show up unless a connection happens like when someone takes in a difference and that changes them in a way or grows the difference.i forgot to say what the technique was in gmod. Basically chunk and connect by portal. It’s a bit more complex but that’s the basics. Compress the unused pieces and as we do things, like legos and the way they build, the ai will build when we find it in the sim. Like when you turn the characters head, the ai retrieves the info associated with that thing you are currently looking, touching, smelling. It’s just compressed and disassembled so less space, faster run, and maybe more. Just an idea

idk if climate change creates more dry weather, it might actually create more wet weather. while that might be an interesting thought, it doesn't mean that the opposite effect isn't as bad or worse than the original. also, even if it creates wetter weather, that wetter weather might be concentrated in one region, while all of the other regions are left barren without water.

@Zantorc

The earth is becoming measurably greener. Since the 1980s, 29% of human CO2 emissions were cancelled out by the CO2-induced greening of the Earth. The post-2000 vegetative greening expansion has been so massive (5.4 million km²) its net area increase is equivalent to a region the size of the Amazon rainforest. This is an unquestionable fact and wasn't what was assumed in the past. Source: 'Characteristics, drivers and feedbacks of global greening' Nature reviews earth & environment Dec 2019. Crop yields per acre are 30% higher than in 1980, this is largely down to the CO2 rise. In the past the Sahara desert has flipped over to tropical forest when CO2 has risen and this may well happen again bringing CO2 back down. Timber standards have had to be revised as timber is growing far more rapidly than in the past, sub Arctic pine forests in particular. There is enough evidence now to suggest that there are powerful feedback mechanisms to limit CO2 rise - though they may take a few decades to kick in. If you only read mainstream media you will not have heard about this because climate alarmism is the new clickbait. The truth is that extra CO2 will raise the temperature - mostly at the poles. It will have little effect elsewhere or even be beneficial (the Sahara may well revert to being tropical forest, as has happened many times in the past).
