I still remember, 2012, when Lewis Hamilton had come to Mumbai, India to promote Mercedes AMG in partnership with Vodafone india, he was supposed to drive his then F1 car up and down the a particular street in BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex) and it started to rain. 15 year old me was standing in the rain just to get a glimpse of him along with many others but for some reason, exactly where I was standing, he drove past a few meters, did a donut in his car, came right in front of me and through his helmet I saw him looking at me and he gave me a thumbs up. Did another donut and went back towards the end of the street. That evening in the rain was totally worth get drenched for because I still remember him looking at me so clearly that it not only made my day, it made my life.

And verstappen does it as well. But the difference is that even when they screw Hamilton over (for example when bono wasn’t sure whether he should pit or not, Lewis stayed calm), he stays calm but verstappen screams and insults the team (remember Spain this year when his DRS didn’t work, simply because he was spamming it and his engineer told him to stop that but he decided to insult them be scream at the team) Really what Lewis does on an off the track is great, he is humble, he is nice. But people make things up to make him look bad, simply because he is statistically the best driver ever

Vettel once compared it to football (paraphrasing), "do you think if you put a mic on a football player that they will only say nice things, even when fouled?" I think it's because he seems not genuine. He grew up in a normal family and spoke with a working class accent. After he made it, he started acting like a big shot celebrity and speaks more like an American. He's also not funny, which is the quality that British people most recognise in each other, imo. Lewis is such a class act. He comes across as soft spoken but he's really a fierce and fair competitor, a great leader, a great team member, super smart, super amazingly athletic, an insanely hard worker, and humble. He's just awesome to me. I used to think that Schumacher was the greatest F1 driver of all time but I think Lewis is even more accomplished and even doing more for the sport now. And like Michael - but not spoilt little arrogant shits like Verstappen - he comes from a very humble background. His dad, Anthony, worked multiple jobs to support his early go-karting career, including ferrying him around from course to course. But there are many people who - like with Obama - just can't stand a person of colour doing so well. It must really piss them off, which is a huge bonus. My only problem with Lewis are those tattoos. I LOVE this guy. Hamilton is the reason I got into F1 after watching a documentary on him. Never watched racing before of any kind, but his story is inspirational. His father is working 3 jobs to keep his (initially) GoKart racing "car" running. All the other kids have wealthy parents, and he and his father are the only Black people racing, thus boatloads of racism. But with his father's help, he persevered despite the hardships. He's at least one of the GOATs, if not THE GOAT. I watched this guy win a race on 3 tires ! Amazing. 🙂

From his 13th on he was sponsored by Ron Dennis. Having the goos karts to race with. He came in to F1 in a championship winning car. Only in the 4 Vettel years and this year he did not have the fastest car. 6 of his championships he has won by having by far the fastest car.

guys- this was taken completely out of context. you can see the cut in the video before he answers. he really said “i definitely am, yeah” after jimmy says he looks very stylish and jokingly asks if he is the most stylish Formula one driver. when jimmy asked if he was the greatest formula one driver of all time, he responded by basically saying he tries to let his actions speak for himself. i’m a dedicated verstappen fan but pls don’t try to paint hamilton as an arrogant person because he is actually very kind and humble
