Purpose “she was never your girl” refers to how the woman who you thought your girlfriend was never truly your girlfriend. “it was just your turn” means that you were just there to fill in the “role” of boyfriend until she could swap you out with another.

i really love the way the music video conveys skeptas storyline so naturally and cleverly, the framed portrait-like camera angle, on top of being an awesome look, renders the people like silhouettes - “characters”, a bit like say a marble engraving, which makes following the song’s meaning very direct. it’s grimy, portrayed, and it’s just great to watch. tldr: i like the music vid
