Many of you are saying you can't see the difference because you are watching on a "60Hz display", lol. Firstly, UKposts don't offer more than 60FPS uploads. Well they do but they compress it down to 60 anyway. This is recorded at 60Hz but it does not matter because secondly, I slow the clips down a lot so that you can see the difference between actual frames on each screen at once. I wouldn't upload something where someone cannot actually watch it or is impossible to watch due to it not being a high refresh rate video? That would be stupid. The purpose of this video is to show EVERYONE watching, no matter what on, the difference between 60 to 144fps on phone displays when the clip is slowed down just to get a feeling for how many frames are actually missing at lower refresh rate displays. It's hard to see the difference, in slow motion though, you can see it, on the 120hz and 144hz when scrolling it looks like it's "ghosting" or having motion blur, probably because there are more than double the frames being refreshed and synced... I imagine/hope when you're using it you don't notice this, and instead it only feels smoother, cause that's the actual point of higher refresh rates.

You did slow it down but it’s not slow mo which is what people are complaining about I suggest if you make this video again, use a slow mo camera that records 100 or more frames THEN we can see the difference

I guess but if you move to a 90hz + phone and then try and go back to a 60hz one, then you can't do it. It's really hard to go back and makes your phone soooooo much faster. If you've never tried I highly recommend doing it you will not be disappointed. Also it'll take a few days or so to get used to the higher refresh rate.

To be honest, refresh rate is something you have to experience and use in your own hands. You won't see the difference at all on a video but if you actually get your hands on a divice with a high refresh rate, you will definitely notice how much smoother it is.

@@darrensamim he slowed down the frames of each clip showing how each phones behaves and you can clearly see that 60 hz skips frames while there are more of them on 90/120/144 smartphones. I watch it and I can see it and you should too because he made it available for us. Even if you are not familiar with hight refresh rate technology just focus on the video...

iPad has 120Hz since 2017... And chances iPhone will this year since 120Hz AMOLED is finally available although not without its problems right now for the early adopters. (See S20 Ultra and OP8 Pro green tint...).

It is truly a leap from 60 to 120 (OP6 to OP8 Pro). Not only the screen feels smoother but the touch response is also perceivable (screen "follows" fast moving fingers...)... I do believe in most cases 90 is more than enough... Smoothness perceiving is definitely not linear to the frame rate.... I don't game but I find the MEMC in the videos amazing...

I tried the s20 with 120 Hz and compared it with my 60Hz screen. If you try it live it is definitely a huge difference in scrolling through the web. A huge difference! If you scroll through a text, you can’t read it with 60Hz because it’s stuttering, but you CAN with 120 Hz! It’s just not as sharp, but the text doesn’t jump.

So, just jumping between 60 and 120 on my Note 20 Ultra, I can notice a huge difference. For some reason, fast scrolling on it (fresh out of the box) was choppier on 60 than 120. Everything just feels smoother and more responsive and while objective fact and data are important, so are feel for the user.

I was actually looking for a refresh rate comparison. A regular phone user like me (stays on social media, streaming and more on camera), is quite bothered if a higher refresh rate will actually affect my life. But judging from the comparison, I'm better off with a better camera set up and bigger battery (also fun fact, refresh rate IS A HUGE FACTOR on battery life). Watching on my 60Hz Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro. ☺

You may not necessarily “see” high refresh rates, but for some things it has a noticeable effect. On a phone, probably just feel good stuff. On a PC monitor, it’s more noticeable due to the larger change in image location per frame on fast pans etc. I also wonder how crisp the motion is, as TVs have “higher refresh rates”, but it’s kind of an extrapolation sometimes. Seems like the phones can handle true frame rates. Makes me wonder why more TVs don’t support this high refresh rate

UKposts videos are capped at 60hz/fps, so no matter how high the refresh rate is on any of the phones, you won't notice any difference. To notice a difference, you have to do this test irl.

There is a option in developer settings to show refresh rate in OnePlus 7t and 90hz only works in few apps. It never works in any game. The moment you open the game it shows 60hz. Btw difference is huge even in 90 and 60hz, it makes scrolling really smooth

The feeling of using a higher refresh rate display is hard to explain or demonstrate. You have to use it for a while, then go back to an old 60Hz display, to realize how great it was, and how choppy it feels now.

Switching back and forth between a 90 Hz and 60Hz phone display, it is always jarring. Text just seems to blur more when scrolling at 60Hz and my eyes feel more uncomfortable liked they aren't able to focus on the screen. With that said, after a while my eyes do readjust.

UKposts only shows the maximum resolution of your phone in the video settings(if it is connected to a Google account), so if you would play this video on another device, there would be more options

For my opinion, 60Hz screen is decent as phone SoC doesn't powerful enough to running high framerate without sacrifice some quality rendering. Sure, some people would prefer and need high refresh rate, especially on competitive shooting mobile game. But for occasional situation, 60fps stable with good graphic quality render is what we need in gaming world.

Only when you see it in slow mo! In real time it's not perceptible at all. What you WILL notice is the brightness, contrast, and saturation far before refresh rate.

I am using 90hz panel(Realme 6 pro) and recently i was using my friends phone which was 60 hz and i was littlery shocked by seeing the difference. You cannot see the difference in this video because of youtube compresion. By the way even i dont use phone in slow motion but still there is a lot of difference.

Thats not at all what he was saying. He slowed it down so you can see it more clearly when filmed and on a youtube video at 30fps on your screen with most likely 60hz. Of hours it won't look like it, but irl you could really tell.

I like this video I've never used any 90 Hz or 120 Hz display before so I can't see the difference. I plan to get a gaming phone soon I just knew If l need to enjoy playing I should get a hight refresh rate phone to play.

Actually Hz of viewing screen doesnt matter to see a difference here. What matters is the frame rate of the recording camera. Whatever you are using can't catch frames faster than 60p. That is why it makes no difference when slowed down. Sorry for my bad english.

You will see real difference when paying double amount to get that refresh rate.. I'm fine with 60.im not interested to slow down to see all 120 frames by paying double money

i had a 90hz one plus and then switched to 120hz S20, but i don't find any difference between those two, just in the battery 120hz drains faster.

Edit: i just cheked the newer video with this correction applied. Original comment: If you're trying to to show the difference up to 144hz in smoothness, you have to record that many FPS, but 144 fps isn't something that most cameras support, but still 120fps is very common, recording at 120fps and stretching it down in half should show the difference in refresh rate. All wee see is horrendous ghosting due to the shutter speed not keeping up.

If I remember correctly there is the Sharp Zero 2 from 2018 with a 240hz refresh rate, or am I wrong?

120 hz and 144 hz are just gimmick! 90hz is more than enough for high end games on smartphones!

Everytime when i played codm i switched from 60hz to 90hz display. When I dont play codm i switch it back from 90hz to 60hz. But then a few days ago i kinda forgot to switch it from 60hz to 90hz while playing game and i found out thru out the game that i was much more faster with 60hz than with 90hz. Can someone please explain it to me?
