I have already died at oil rig twice today with my best gear. One time to a scientist which bursted me in 2 seconds because i severely underestimated it, and the other time to a group who were currently clearing when I arrived. Now I am armed with another gun and thanks to you, new knowledge, so now I will go conquer the small oil rig. Third time is the charm!

I used this guide and before I even opened the locked crate I got a supply signal from a scientist; looked up the chances and the chance of a scientist dropping a supply signal is 0.3% :D

I really want to thank you for this quick and complete guide on smoil rig. Earlier today, I attempted my very first solo take on this monument as I usually get carried by my friends. I brought with me the three cards, fuse, SAR, 120 rifle bullets, some meds, and a complete set of road sign armor. I began by sniping the scientists from my boat before entering and as I was about to change my clothes, I realized that the road sign armor would be of no use since the small oil rig was in a tundra biome. Wearing too much metal would deplete my health and hinder me from succesfully conquering this Herculean feat for a noob like me. Fast forward to the time I hesitated to swipe my red card and begin my duel against the heavies, I said YOLO and pressed E. I opted to go to the 3rd level and bait them one by one. Unfortunately, I was not that great at dodging their shots or using cover to my advantage but I was able to finish them all. In fact, I thought I was gonna die since the rifle bullets I brought with me were running low and with one bullet left, I made a headshot and killed the last heavy. However, there were still four minutes left before the crate unlocks and I saw in the global chat, "solo guy on rig with a sar". I realized that this info was possible due to that person having a computer in his base in order to watch the CCTV. With zero rifle bullets and zero syringes in my pocket, I jumped off to the ocean without hesitation and barely missed my landing in the water. I rode my boat and drove off the distance. However, that dive has caused me to get wet (hehe) by 100% which have caused a -26C on my body temperature. I realized at that moment that maybe death is truly inevitable for noobs trying to solo take this monument for the first time. I tried to heal up wih bandages but I ran out of cloth. Death was coming and as my health ticked closer to zero, I accepted my fate. Dead. I'm dead. All that effort... for death. Epilogue: I realized I can buy another boat so I immediately went to the fishing village and I managed to collect my stuff. I got home unharmed and depot'd all my loot. It was a very fun and memorable experience for me.

I recently started playing rust and I know how to build bases and do basic things but monuments and puzzles are confusing and this wipe I have only gone to the supermarkets and the dome and then tried to do Train Yard and failed because I didn't know where the loot was and I stayed too long so thanks!

One word: railing! You can shoot them in the head inbetween the railing when you hide behind the crane. They'll not be able to fire back then, if you are carefull. They'll just gather under the floor your standing on, and their heads will be visible/targetable.

Here a nice tip for you sneakers if you go up the other entrance and get wet after you do your thing you can go up the long thing to the left of the heli pad and stand under it you can remove wetness and cold ( take off armour )

Hi, idk what i do wrong, but when i call chinook, i ran to the crane, and after few mins sciencist goes to back of crane and killed me.

im very new to rust and i didn't really now what oil rig was until now which i can see its a very important thing in a wipe especially a week wipe theres no time to grind scrap so oil is your homie when it comes to guns

I was already at the beach so I swam all the way with a hazzy. Let’s just say they were VERY surprised that I climbed up and sneaked next to them.

nice videos for a small youtuber they are very profesional and easy to fallow wich many other videos dont do but a quick suggestion is updating old videos or just the tools and defense beginner guide for i was looking at it and from 700 hours of experiance i beilieve many things might need to be changed like the bone club or melee options for it felt like you were implying to try to get them instread of use them if you find them

I play on a 2x server with a group that is rich so what i just do is i start flying with a mini and right before i Get to the lowest level kinda just charge in and just out before it lands in the ocean and gets destoyed. But its fine that i do it cuz we got to many minis. For some reason we also have alot of syringes, so one time i brought like 70 syringes bcuz i didnt care. But it was fine they had a box full of syringes anyway

Hey dude, ive done the small oil rig three times now and all of those times the locked crate despawned before i got there. The map showed the locked crate on the map but when i got to the top it despawned. I was just wondering how fast i had to do it before it despawned (Im new to rust and your videos have been helping me out a lot)

I went up on the crane and started shooting the heavy scientists. They all decided to gather below the crane so I just threw some grenades and that was it lol.

I think they took out the elite crate from the blue room... It's pretty fair i mean a blue key card is something pretty common, it shouldn't give access to crates that spawn tier 3 guns, mil grade guns and c4 + a bunch of other stuff... Otherwise why would you need a red one

The Green Keycard and Fuse are not required. The doors for both can be opened by interacting with them as they are not locked. However the rest of the video is great and very informative for new players.

i tried it today and i killed all the bots on the bottom and saw a hazzy pulling up in a boat so i killed him and he was loaded with 2k scrap and i tried to loot him and drowned and couldn’t get back so i quit that server

You dont really need green card and fuse because both doors can be actually opened like normal doors..

If your insanely lucky you can get a c4 off heavy scientists on large

The scientists require more shots to kill than players, and can sometimes have a dead on aim

Console just got oil rig and you forgot to mention the 15 man full metal kids camping the rig day and night. They just M2 4× anyone coming near. 🤦‍♂️😂😂 I can't wait for private severs so they'll be stuck on servers with ONLY zergs and us solos can fight against other solos and duo's.

Stairs are easiest with anything more than a duo, crane is only good solo

So heres my story My dumb brain thought i needed only a green card for the crate so i went back and there was a sar guy so i fought him and he had red card so i continued not me knowing what will happen i got scared and stayed in the same position for 15 mins luckily no one came and i got a ton of stuff
