I’m about to spend my first birthday without my parents around. Both passed away just before Thanksgiving only 49 days apart. I hate that they aren’t here, but my dog and I moved to Utah to make a new life. It will be a month on my birthday on May 1st since we moved, but turning 52 and building a new life with new friends feels amazing.

You're everything I seek to accomplish in my own life, the vanlife, the homestead life, the solitude and peace and as a bookworm myself, it's quite admirable.

The 80 series drew me in because I want one. And you taught me something about life. Thank you. You reminded me that life is beautiful.

As a fellow female boondocker (with pups) I have learned to set up extra chairs and even thrifted men’s hiking boots on the hood as decoys in camp. Gives me a little extra piece of mind, that plus my stash of all types of weaponry 😊. And yes, always keep the front seat available. Embrace your new journey of simplicity, it’s amazing the places you’ll be able to get back into that others will not go.

I'll have to get another 4x4 and convert it to a camper. I had a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I was getting started on but had to sell it. My Dog developed 3 cancerous tumors and I had to sell my Cherokee just to cover her tests and surgeries (sold it for half of what I bought it for unfortunately - just needed a quick sale). Ironically, the plan was to get the Cherokee done and my dog and I were going to start traveling around the West. My dog's surgery went great and she is now cancer free - that's the most important thing! She is the best dog ever (was a rescue). I would have sold many other things to save her… giving up on her wasn't an option. Love your videos! Happy Belated Birthday!!
