In this adventure I knew I had to shelter well behind the mountains and stay there . I don't mind a bit of rough weather and certainly know my limits , actually there is none . Hugo saw me in action for the first time , this week Tam the chef was not playing balls . As soon as I clapped friendly Hugo my rod went into work . I was pleased with the reel found last week in 30 foot of water , I spooled it with some pink Nebula X8 , 24 lb and good to go . My effort paid well with another 2 pike all on the slouch minnow from Rabala . I did go home early , better safe than sorry , it's so easy to come off the kayaks in this mid April weather and the water is still too cold for a wash . Until next week ...
