For me Liverpool full backs are best in the world. Some are good in defending some are good in attacking but they are perfectly balanced. One is 20 years old and another is 25, feeling so jealous as a United fan, they will be playing there for very long time. Hope Ole can do same in United. Rebuild from scratch.

Here here. As a United fan of 40 years it goes against the grain to praise Liverpool, but I watched their performance last night v Barca and I was in total awe of them. Quite simply Liverpool were brilliant and made one of the best teams in the world look decidedly average. They didn't deserve the 3-0 defeat last week either and justice was done over the two legs. I have made other comments in the United Stand threads about our current situation and it is painful to say but we are MILES behind Liverpool (and City) - it is true they are both blessed with, in my opinion, the two best managers in world football at the moment both tactically and from a man-management perspective. Quite rightly they are reaping the rewards of that now and as United fans we need to accept it is going to be a long road back to challenging them and enjoying the days we got used to under Sir Alex. Hard work and team ethic will help win games when player ability and skill fall short, but we haven't even been able to call on that this season. Being out-run over 90 minutes by a relegated team with only 15 points all season highlights this issue and is completely embarrassing. MG is right when he says we need a complete clear out and yes it will take several transfer windows to do that.......but it needs to be done, because we have too many players who don't deserve our support far less to wear the United shirt. Liverpool and City run themselves into the ground for their team mates and their manager week in week out, United need to have the same desire and commitment to the cause otherwise we can forget about being a top club again and challenging for titles and trophies.

Duff man The champions league is a big attraction for player yes but it’s not *the sole* reason they choose to go to a club. If a player is young, patient and likes the vision of a manager then only one year in a lower competition isn’t going be as big of a factor as some people make it out to be. If anything, they’re more likely to win a trophy being in Europa since there’s no way United would be going far in champions league if they got it next season. Also remember that transfer talks usually start months before the end of the season before they even know the champions league places. With United you’re also pretty much guaranteed first team football as a club with huge financial backing, extremely sought out for brand deals and also has a famous history.

I agree, Chong actually looked good the other day, a little raw which is understandable but I thought his movement of the ball looked very promising when he was laying the ball of, always looking to move into space for the return pass, giving his team mates options, the rest looked static in comparison, he looked like the type of player that would thrive at a Barca or City with players on his same wave length plus his Afro is immense, best in Europe by far.
