REF: Free Standing Tub Filler - NET: The original design of the brass flange that threads onto the bottom of the vertical stand tube and then gets bolted to the floor mount is not strong enough to protect against lateral forces and allows the vertical stand tube threads to break loose from the flange (seen and heard at 1:56) . . The solution "redesign?" shows 4 set screws threaded into the side walls of the brass flange which allows it to "bite" into the vertical stand tube (seen at 3:59) This set screw solution lets it withstand a much greater lateral force shown around 6:56. NOTE: Although the description for this video states a client found a solution for a problem with the freestanding tube ... and the video shows the problem and the solution... its not clear if the video is just a recommendation i.e., fix for consumers if they choose to fix the problem and/or if Landonbath will be making a manufacturing change and include the setscrew design in future shipments. My faucet (exactly as shown in this video) was purchased earlier this year and it "did not" have the 4 set screws in the flange. Thanks to an internet search I received a tip from a plumber in a plumbing forum saying he's had great success using Loctite Threadlocker Red 271 on the threads of the flange just before he screws the flange into the tube. (no reports of any tubes breaking loose.
