Also super excited about Michael's plans for the dumb waiter. The only downside to that kitchen is that you're underground so you don't get the stunning views. It's still an excellent reno and part of the chateau history. Yanis is doing an amazing job!

Priming metal is absolutely "no fun" but once done and ready for the "real" paint it is pretty easy going. Rick's doing great. Yanis - wow. I have a lot of admiration for this man--willingness to learn and ultimately quite skilled. It takes talent to do those vaulted ceilings. Bravo. Michael the dumbwaiter is going to be great fun to get up to working condition. Enjoy Beatrice and the Lake Country and we hope to see some drawings for purchase as prints.

How interesting. It is wonderful to preserve and maintain .However, you can all dream and visually project so well. Honestly the basement kitchen is starting to look so much better already I can't wait to watch your progress over the next few weeks. Hope you have a great holiday Michael. I'm only an hour from the lake district as I live in north east lancs which is only 45 mins from Lancaster so doesn't take much longer from there. My older brother lived in Bowness on Windermere there and I have 😂a friend that lives in that beautiful area of the world.yannis's plastering is Awesome.

1:26 that arial shot took my breath away

When I was a small child we lived in an apartment building in New York City. My dad was the building superintendent. There was a manually operated dumbwaiter that was used for residents to send down their garbage each evening. Dad would hoist it to the top floor. After it was filled the residents would lower it to the next, and do on. That was in the early 1950’s.

Yay! Yanis deserves a pay raise for hi plastering. 😊

Wow, what a difference. Yanis needed this project to show that he has not only learned quickly but, that he is capable to do the work on his own without supervision. Billy, thank you so much for recording the transformation of the chateau kitchen. I know you want to get on to the library at the convent, but I do hope you continue to spend time at the chateau. I know the roof needs work, as well as the ceiling in the bedrooms that had the leak. Not to mention the other unfinished bedrooms and the hallway and the stairways. And the major dusting project after the day the door was left open! It was so sad to see the grand staircase all covered with dust, after all the work on it. Perhaps wait until Simon is back to return to the convent? The library will need all hands! Plus you really need Rick and Yannis in the chateau kitchen for now. Do you have any plans for the chateau, for having some events there or visitors? Someone mentioned doing a murder mystery there, that would be a great event. I have really enjoyed the parties at the chateau that you have shared. I also enjoyed the story that Michael read. It might be fun to have a workshop of writing murder or horror mysteries at the chateau! Or some other kind of literary creation. Maybe even creating children's books! I hope things are well with your family. Perhaps you are wanting more privacy for your children and your wife Gwen, but their continued absence from videos does make me worry, their presence is missed. Praying that all is well, and perhaps you just want privacy. 🙏 I love how much your dad Mick supports your work himself! Michael, I love your enthusiasm for the kitchen project and I hope you have a wonderful time in the Lake district. I know last time you sadly missed your opportunity to see the inside of Beatrix Potter's house, I hope you get to see that this time. I saw the video where you mentioned about the terrace leaking into the kitchen, I am so glad that you took the time to address that. What a brilliant solution you created for the terrace. It looks like there are no leaks in the kitchen now!
