I had this weird theory out of nowhere that i decided to share somewhere. So what if what we see in sink mod actually takes place not in the real world, but inside Sonic's purgatory, aka dead mind? And he is forced to suffer forever within the depths of trap he got himself into? This theory would explain how sonic was able to sing and open mouth underwater.
