Have you tried the Sony LinkBuds? I admit they're kind of weird, but so am I haha

I bought these after trying the WF-1000XM4s and borrowing my mother's airpods and both of them being highly uncomfortable. Both bothered my ears with in a few hours of playing, but I've left these in for several hours with fairly decent comfort. Also I have noticed the tap hasn't been as consistent for me, but to the teeth chattering I think I paused a song once by either sneezing or coughing and that was amusing. I absolutely love the open air feel to them and how I can basically just walk around and have the music exist with me in the moment.

i *hate* noise isolation, even non-active. not being able to hear the world around me makes me feel uncomfortable and/or unsafe. so having something like this come out where i can wear both buds *and* it sounds good, i'm definitely willing to pay the price.

With me, multi device connectivity was a what a problem too but recently Sony has released an update that does give you Multi-Device connectivity so I'm pretty happy

I love mine so much I bought two pairs as a backup. I love using at work where I can still stay connected to my environment and co-workers without having to push a button or removing them! Great review!

I couldn't stand these buds when I first used them due to low volume, however after giving them a try again I love them. When they're properly seated a gentle twist towards your ear canal massively improves the volume and quality. They're the most comfortable buds for me now.

I’ve owned these for three weeks and they have become my new favorites. One hint if you try them is make sure the donut is flat on your ear. I was trying to stick them in my ear like a normal ear pod and it will affect the sound quality. I love them and hope they will have a version 2.

I've been looking at new earbuds because one of my airpods have absolutely stopped working and I decided on these. Great video and great format.

Most reviews I’ve seen so far comment on the lack of ANC or the loud ambient noise levels. Thanks for keeping on track for what the Linkbuds are designed to ACTUALLY do - which is to let the background sounds in while still providing a good listening experience. I find in-ear devices very uncomfortable, and prolonged ANC use makes me feel nauseous. So the Linkbuds might be a good choice for my use. I’m looking forward to trying them out.

Hey man, great overview. I picked these up on pre-order. I have a number of TWS earbuds/IEMs, but these fit a specific niche and set of use cases 1.- I need excellent microphones and audio for Zoom, Teams and phone calls 2.- I need to be aware of my surroundings during regular work hours 3.-When in the car with my family, I want to be aware of my surroundings and be able to enjoy audiobooks, podcasts or preferred music 4.- I like to fall asleep with an earbud on with sleep sounds, a meditation or a podcast. The earbud can’t be uncomfortable for side sleeping. The LinkBuds do all of this better than the Galaxy Beans, the AirPods V1 or V2, or the Transparency mode enabled Sony XM4s or the AirPods Pro. BTW these are the best audio quality and noise cancelling for the receiver TWS I’ve used.

Yep you nailed it. The LinkBuds are really great and in a category of their own. I LOVE leaving ONE in my ear all day. Its funny that the "Speak-to-Chat" actually reminds me that they are in my ears because I can barely feel them. This is the best device for always being in "both worlds" at once.

these are good for casual listening and audiobooks. also the wing tip are important.. normally i use medium size tips, but for these i have to use the biggest one to prevent it from falling out of my ears.

I was gardening while using these and wide area tapping made all the difference. I had gloves on. First time controlling earbuds with gardening gloves.

I'm very much a similar earbud user. Use only 1 at a time to keep an open ear if I need it. Thought these would be great for listening to podcasts while commuting to work by bike but am curious how bad the wind noise is with them. Also concerned the case shape and latch button location makes it a slippery pickle but regardless it'll sure to be better than what I'm dealing with now. Love your videos! Subscribed!

Today my cousin let me test these out and I enjoyed them. When I was talking to my cousin, telling him what I liked about the Linkbuds I mentioned the Sony Fontopia earbuds that Josh showed in his video. The Fontopia's had a good amount of bass whereas the Linkbuds do not.

The Sony MDR-XB50 are my all time favorite wired ear buds that feel comfy and sound great and wireless are usually so weak sounding, but the ambient sound hole is a major plus…

I bought the Samsung Buds Live exactly for this reason. After testing a Sony MX3 pair and feeling sad because they started to hurt my ears, I stumbled into Joshua channel and after watching his review I decided to buy the Live. For me, the difference was abysmal, still feeling uneasy the first time I used them, but after a couple of days that was completely gone, and sometimes I forgot I have them on. Joshua is one of the few reviewers that "get it" in terms of why this products exists beyond the pure sound quality, and this review is another example. Good job, sir!

Believe it or not the most comfortable earbuds I’ve ever used are the Sony WF-C500. They’re not super high-end but they sound perfect enough for me and I can leave them in my ears for a 12+ hour shift and not even remember they’re there. And a single charge will last about 11 1/2 hours before I have to put them back in the case

Thank you for this video! It is very informative. I'm having a hard time finding replacements for my 1st Pixel Buds, with the tap, hold and swiping features. But these linkbuds seem like a worthy candidate.

Got it for $27 from ebay. Great earphone for outdoor activities. Also multiple bluetooth pairing/play is fixed. You can have two devices connected/play sound simultaneously.

I don't mind non isolated buds, they are good for keeping myself aware of what's happening. I didn't like the battery duration also, they are master slave means when paired with a watch for jogging, switching the watch to the right wrist is a must.

I don't like the sensation that you have with in-ear earbuds, sometimes I feel I'm underwater, I can almost feel the air lacking lol. Also, the tip inside my ear, is really annoying. I like to be aware of my surroundings, so I'll definitely grab this. When I want a full immersive experience, I just use a full over ear with ANC headphone, like Bose. They are not cheap, but, you are paying for the design. Surely not for everyone. Thank you for the review, really helpful.

Would these be good for someone with soundwave sensitivity? I cannot wear regular earbuds. At all. But I've had over ear versions that don't go into the ear canal and those have been fine. I don't care about anything else if I'm able to wear them without extreme itching.

Picked up a pair last month and while I loved them at their best, the connection issues, strange fit, and discomfort in my left ear after a few minutes drove me back to the Pixel Buds A-Series. Having that open design but still relying on an eartip to improve sound quality is absolutely killer for me personally.

Right now these earbuds are on sale at Target for $54. Are they worth picking up? I have the link buds s. I have the Sony 500 and 700 earbuds. Should I pick up the link buds for 54 bucks? Is it worth it??

I bought this when it was newly launched, but since it does not fit well in my ears especially when I smile, I kept them in a corner until recently. I had these earphone fins that looked like a crescent moon that came from some old earphones of mine and tried it on the linkbuds, it held it comfortably well in my ear without any hint of falling even with exaggerated smiling and head shaking. I guess Sony has to rework the rubber fins into that shape, but I don't know how to reach them for suggestions...

Would you recommend this over the Galaxy Buds Live? I currently have 2 pairs of Buds Live (got the second one on sale) and these are my favorite buds ever. However, it looks like these might do the same job even better - plus I heard the microphones are amazing on this for calls.

I'm using a linkbuds and its just a plain day2day headphone worth a dime. Comfi wise and its just light sometimes you forget your wearing it. For me sound quality is 👍🏻 and as per review the controls should be upgraded and improved.

The most comfortable of wireless earbuds for me has been the Surface Buds. I just wish they sounded better. They're great for Zoom and office work, but not audio. What smartwatch is that?

As someone who has cauliflower ears I'm always envious of you guys who have no trouble using TWS.

I got these and expected good things - I’m reg blind and use an app called soundscape to get around with my Guide dog as they would allow me to hear the app and allow me to hear what’s going on around me especially traffic, while this worked quite well they where to quite to hear properly. I sent my first pair back as while the earbuds connected to my iPhone when I tried to make a call or tried to accept a call and hear I was not able to, even with the second pair. I called Sony three times (was cut off twice by the support time and the third time the guy just couldn’t be bothered, just wanted me off the phone and send me a link to a web page. So while I expected great things they have now been returned and have gone back to bone conducted earphones.

I watched your video after watching flossy Carter's. As much as I do love his channel and content, I believe he completely missed the point of this product. It's for people like you and honestly me who like to have the ambient surroundings available. I'm buying these and I don't think I'll regret the decision.

Just picked these up today after hearing that Sony is going to update the firmware to include multipoint

I've bought them as soon as they dropped at best buy. One big Con is the Case. The Case is horrible. I'm 5"10 and dropped the case from pocket height and the case opened and the earbuds flew out instantly. So I will be investing in a cheap little carabiner case on Amazon whenever it's available. But what ever you do don't drop them because the case will easily open when closed all the way and they will be sent flying. One thing that does concern me is over time Overall: I'm a commercial electrician and I go up and down ladders and hear loud machines in the background all the time. My attention is always required at my job and they technically only allow one earbud. However due to the "open back" or circle driver. + Speak To Chat (Pauses When You Talk) . These are amazing. I never feel like I need to take them out to hear somebody or thing. They get loud enough if you are a Android owner if you disable Absolute Volume in dev settings. You can make them hit the peak volume cap sony intended them to hit. If you use a Preamp you can make them louder. However this will make Speak to Chat less likely to work due to the music being loud and the earbuds not being able to pick up the sound of you speaking. Bass isn't really there unless you are in a quiet room or area. It still doesn't have while it's really faint but the point is. These are for people that need to know what's going on around them 24/7 or like working out and feeling more free. And the touch control are pretty cool as well because they eliminate physically touching the earbuds. I tap my jawline and it works and this is my favorite media playback controls

Fun fact... Well not so fun when it happened and I didn't know the waterproof rating, but I left my linkbuds in the case in my pocket that I put in the laundry.. this was a day after I bought it and I already was having buyers remorse.. so it was washed in the laundry. Took it out and did the rice trick be cause I didn't know it was waterproof. It works perfectly fine and I like them a little more now. The case works too.

Super weird question, but like when you eat with regular ear buds like you can't hear anything, how are these?

Late to the game I'm just entering my 3rd hour with these @ $139 from best buy. So far they fit my lifestyle as I rely on ambient sound a lot and like the automated mute function when speaking. However, listening to music they suck bad on sound, no power or loudness at all. I've also noticed the right side bud is dying much quicker than the left so far based on what the app is telling me. For office use and surroundings like that, listening to podcast etc I think they'll work out for me, but if you want to jamb while working out look somewhere else.

A comparison with Samsung Buds Live would be interesting I think. Similar approach.

For me the most important thing with earbuds is sound quality. I demand high quality audio from Sony my media player. Clear treble, deep bass. Noise cancelling is out along with other tricks.

How do i get the left ear bud to work independently?

I really feel these are so misunderstood by many reviewers. They all complain about no anc and missing bass. But these are not your immersive audiophile music listening buds. I feel like Sony has been on point with these better than anyone has been with earbuds. For hifi full featured anc listening experience I don’t want to use earbuds. I use a proper headphone. Earbuds for me are something I just wear all day and use for background music podcast etc during my day to day stuff. I don’t want to be immersed into the sound by my earbuds. I just want to wear them to listen to my stuff whole still being fully aware of everything around me. That’s exactly what these are! Never had I earbuds so perfect as these and they are exactly on point! I really hope Sony is not put off by all these negative reviews, reviewing them in a totally wrong perspective. And will continue on this concept and improve on it. These are really my go to earbuds everyday and use them all the time. When I want to be immersed in a super hifi listening session I just turn to my actual headphones. I hope sony will come out with a version 2 someday being even flatter to use them while sleeping and longer battery life and improved sound. I would def pick those up too! I really hope more people realize what these earbuds are and how they actually work in day to day activities instead of reviewing them in a hifi listening session situation.

i know you kinda covered this but do these actually go into your ear canal at all the thing that attracts me to them is i am not a fan of jamming earbuds into my ear canal lol i typically use over ear headphones for this reason but these seem they sit on the outside of your canal am i wrong if they dont go into your ear id like to try them for when im riding my e scooter

Interesting, will try one. I love my earbuds (noise cancelling, very active, effective). But imho, sometimes I feel that vacuum quiet which is not good experience in the long run, so will be looking for something like this an equivalent to those open back headphones.. which surprised me for finding out that Sony is testing the waters. That idea on sustainability is a plus. I hope majority of leading company will take that next step.

Was looking to get these but I doubt they will fit my ears. As you say they look like the old round type of earphones that you used to get and these never stayed in my ears. This is a shame as these look like a great bit of kit if you want open ear buds.

ALL of the old earbuds ALWAYS fitted my ear.. nowadays NO earbud will fit my ear ;( Now with all the phones going bluetooth i cant find earbuds that fit me... i want a bluetooth version of the oid earbuds.. Appareantly i have never met anybody with this problem.. am i really the only one or are there more experiencing this? Does anybody have some good suggestions?

the biggest problem i have with these is, i have a very difficult time having them stay in my ear. The silicone nub thats supposed to be tucked in to the ear dosent actually do anything i have tried all the sizes and it just dosent sit well. Maybe iam doing something wrong as i have never had wireless earphones before
