As far as I am concerned, SONY is knocking it out of the park. I love their approach to the cell phone market. They build top-quality products, elegant, lightly understated, and authentic designs.

Good battery life, solid build, half decent camera, not very big and minimal bells and whistles is exactly what I want in a phone. Looks like this could fit the bill and I keep my phones for 3 years minimum

I hate how phones have gotten so big, there are so few small phones which makes it hard to find any affordable ones. At least this one is small in one dimension. Phablet suck you can barely fit them in pockets.

I'm thinking to buy this phone and been watching alot of reviews about it. Want to ask I'm a heavy user as there will be a whole day in the weekend i only use my phone just watching Netflix as a whole show and then i go to twitch for also a 7 - 8 hrs and so.. My question dose the phone gets warm while using it and the battery dose it die fast? I know the battery is a beast. But what i want to know will stand for a whole day when i use the phone for a whole day?

I really think that 10 III is fine for the price. Other reviewer just want to see flagship grade performance in a midrange. And, I'm sorry about 1 III. hope you'd get the replacement soon.

Moving on, how many updates did you have since over a month ago? Have you noticed any noticeable improvements in the front & rear cameras, audio, screen brightness, audio, general performance, wifi/5G speeds and battery life?

If you want to shoot in RAW format you can use Open Camera app and do your own edit in Photoshop or other software or apps.

Really useful review thanks! Was toying between this and 5ii. Reddit and other places turn up their nose at 10iii when vs 5ii but I think there's too much assumption everyone wants latest and greatest, best CPU/GPU etc. But not everyone games on their phones or uses it 99% of their awake lives. Your review here has made my mind up. This is a good phone. Gonna get it! Does it have some cons? Sure, it's £400 mid range phone, but given the great features it's a good price.

5ii is a compact flagship smartphone (even if from last year) more powerful processor, better screen, better camera etc etc, while the 10 III is a medium range. I wouldn't compare these two smartphones because they are in two different categories

Great review! Hope sony can make a much smaller phone like a mid range compact. Maybe a 5.5" to 5.8" 21:9. I don't game on my phone so a budget efficient SOC like the SD690 5G will do plus 4,500 mah battery. I miss the sony compact phones.

Had the Z5compact since early 2016, finally gave out last month after almost 6 years of heavy use. Now Im looking for its replacement and all the screens look huge, dont fit in my pocket and I ve seen my mates charge their phone all the time.

I've used blackberry, Samsung and iPhone. In my opinion the Sony Xperia range are the BEST. I will never go back to the other phones.

I would say that if you need a simple phone that is just loaded with main features and will last pretty long, this is the way to go with that build quality, simple but good design, IP rating, clean software, very good battery, I mean c'mon, this is a good offer even though 90+ Hz screen and better cameras would be nice to have 🤔

I've been using Xperia since 2013. Currently using 10 ii. 1 problem that I don't like is the image quality settings. If we set to standard mode, n play a vid with very2 dark colour, like in dark room place, with the phone has a low brightness,.. the image will be pixelated. But it won't pixelated if using the original mode.

i have one in pink almost using for two months now, and there are areas where i think it pales in comparison to the seemingly fully packed spec ridden china phones but i am still stuck with it. Why? form factor and functionality , i dont take photos all the time, i just do social media on a daily basis. So basically i just need a phone and something i can easily hold and put inside my pocket.

If only Sony would commit to 3 years OS upgrades and 5 years security update, I would love to return to the Xperia series. I remember using the Sony Ericsson music phone way back and the Z tablet…. Always had a soft spot for their understated design and beautiful screens…

I have a 10ii and wanted to upgrade to the 10iii but went for the 5ii because we wouldn't get the blue version and would have to wait a couple of months longer. People who wouldn't buy it anyway are complaining without even having touched the device. I haven't used this device yet but i need can only imagine it's even faster than the 10ii which was much faster in the day to day than allot of devices with more powerful hardware. This device excels in multi media and social media. For gaming there are better phones around. Improvements I'd like to see on a 10iv would be stereo speakers, higher brightness (around 700nits max and 600nits with slider) and better camera system (preferably something as good as the 5ii)

So I wish that you would just show trailers of movies that are released. Ive seen Eternals already so it doesnt bother me. But I have unfortunately seen too much from No Way Home now. :(

That's a $1100+ phone. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't at least put a case and screen protector on it. Despite how flimsy some of them look, they can actually protect your phone. I've dropped my XZ premium on concrete twice now(from waist and chest level heights) and my screen has been perfectly fine, though there is some chipping at the corners of the device. Also, I'm waiting for my 10 III to show up in the mail. The battery life improvements compared to my previous model's camera are enough for me to upgrade.

@@matanleider1562 not used the microphone. Headphone jack is good. My only negative is that the phone speaker isn't that loud compared to other phones I have had. However the battery is fantastic I use it all day for radio, browsing etc and never runs out.

I am using Xiaomi but I am thinking of buying this phone. However I have some Xiaomi headphones that I bought for 50€ and they are connected using Type-C. I am wondering does the Xperia 10 iii support Type-C headphones? Maybe because of the existence of 3.5mm jack, they removed the support of headsets or something, I don't know... Thanks!

Had the same feeling. I bought a case before the phone even arrived. Sony tends to put lots of oleophobic coating on their phones, that's why they're so slippery.

@@oliverportuguez3437 the phone itself is great 👍, it can hold up it's juice up to 2 days (my recent uptime is 45hrs) in a decent usage. Even the stamina mode is not turn on.. no lag on PUBG, but on high graphic games like Genshin Impact.. the phone generates heat at the back and a little bit of lag, but I promise it is playable.. 😄

Got this phone for reasonable price of 279 € and with free Sony ANC headphones. One con, this phone is very slippery and I dropped it twice first day. Pro: this phone is ready for Sailfish OS installation.

I want to replace my 5-year-old Xzs (which still works very very good) only issue is my fault I might have killed its LCD causing lines to show on the screen. I am considering this phone. However, most Xperia fans say that mid range phones Sony are no good and I should just save for a flagship one.. But it is too expensive for me.

A few photos is not reallt a good photo review in my opinion. For the rest I bought the 5ii like 3 months ago and they also say this screen is not that bright. But it's bright enough for me. Ofcourse you don't see it when there is direct sunlight. You don't even want that because that burns your eyes away

If I got the budget for Xperia Pro-1, then I'll buy Sony camera RX100 and buy this cheap Xperia 10 iii as a phone that seats comfortably in my tight jeans. The Xperia pro-1 don't use 100% of it's 1 inch sensor unlike a real camera like RX100. The physics just don't allow it. But you still can put the RX100 in your pocket.

I am always Sony Xperia user and the last one I used Sony Xperia XZ3. Spectacular Xperia display, camera and design with pathetic Battery. Because of small battery have to charge Xperia at least 2-3 times a day. Which results into low resale value of Sony Xperia as compared to Samsung and iPhone brands. I wonder why Sony Xperia mobile team is ignorant to improve Batteries in such expensive Xperia devices.? That low battery performance always affects brilliant Sony Xperia devices. I always love Sony Xperia devices but Always have to think about battery problem.

My job has a deal that will give me for free either this, the 5iii, the 1iii, or if I shell out $500 of my own a pro-i. I may be crazy, and my use case is probably unique, but I'm sitting here seriously considering this mid-ranger over the other steals. Now, hear me out. I'm not planning on using whichever device I get as a daily driver. I actually have no wish to walk around with a smartphone. Instead I have a Nokia flip phone with 4G in my pocket, and a Lenovo m8 tablet at home/work for all my android needs. However, the tablet is getting dreadfully slow lately, and given that my job has this offer I think I might as well take it to replace my tablet with something more usable. The only thing is, my main priority is battery. I am not very organised, and since I don't often need my android device I leave it laying around and forget to charge it. I figure, if I get the pro-i or 1iii, they'll essentially always be out of battery. If I get the 5iii, it will be a bit better, but still somewhat struggling. This one though, the 10iii, sounds like it could make it almost an entire week on standby. Just what I need! It's a shame I have to pass up the free offer of insane specs in the pro-i/1iii or the amazing compromise of the 5iii. But so long as manufacturers don't think batteries are worth prioritising on par with screens and cameras, that's the corner I find myself in.

This is the fairest critique on the phone! But it still is fighting a tough battle since there are a lot of phones in that price range. Galaxy A52 5g and Pixel 5a are the benchmarks for mid-range phones currently.

My last Sony phone was the Walkman. It was premium and I love it. After it been outdated I got distracted with Samsung's cheap phones. When Samsung make cheap phones, they're cheap in many ways. But it's not worth to go premium any more in this fast changing world. If I want something cheap, I'll get back to the Sony family. Though the Xperia 10 iii doesn't have Zeiss or shoot in RAW, I still can use Open Camera and shoot in RAW with certain limitations. If I want a real good camera, then I'll buy a real compact camera like the Sony RX100.

MPORTANT NOTE TO ANYONE IN THE USA!!! the Sony Xperia 10 III is not supported by any cell carrier in America. There are only two supported bands, and if you need this phone in an emergency, it could be tragic. Reviewers should do a better job checking on details like this.

I've looked into the gorilla glass on the 1 III in concrete, and they say it will withstand a drop from around 6ft. That was a standard waist height drop. I call BS 😆

Testing parameters are different from real life. In non-controlled environments, it depends on the angle and the cleanliness on the surface of that concrete since that determines how well the force is absorbed throughout the glass.

The irony is gorilla glass is made from sand and sand is it's worse enemy. Drop it on any surfaces with sand, that's suicidal.

There's a lot of faults with this phone, firstly u can't tap the screen on and off. Then secondly, u can't move the whole screen around when u press and hold on to it. Then thirdly, it doesn't let u select more than one number to delete in the call register meaning u have to delete one at a time. Then fourthly, it doesn't hold two sim cards and a memory card together meaning u can only put one sim card in and a memory card. Then fifthly, there's no opinion to select a number to tell u how many notifications u have for each app, it only gives u opinions for dots. So for all them reasons, i don't rate this phone at all.

@@hugojlsantos I just found out that the 10 III does not (I'm not sure) have certain sensors (gyroscope) - usually required for VR, Photosphere, and certain games

We need videos like these. But specs-for-price there are probably far better phones than the 10iii...the £299 Mi11 Lite 5G, £299 OnePlus Nord CE 5G, £329 Poco F3, £399 OnePlus Nord 2 5G...the list goes on.

I have the Xperia 1 II and III, and was looking for a mid ranger for my relatives. Unfortunately, the Xperia 10 III was outclassed by the Samsung A52/A52S. Xperia 10 III should had come with a stronger SOC and a 120Hz refresh rate OLED screen. Missed opportunity to make a mark in the mid rangers.

And now I am kinda supporting this device too. Bought it myself, just because I got such a low price as 168 Pounds (2018 Sek). And its actually a lot better than many reviewers give it credit for. Sure I do agree that Loudspeakers is bad, and the camera software is bad even though they manage to make it slightly better and smoother in video recording. I just love the Google Assistent button and as is not easy to press down by misstake, as many reviewers seems to believe. I wish it was easier to find and press down because as me as a Swede it makes it so easy to activare Google assistent. Especally when voice commands never really works at all. Sony should really try to refit the phone with a better variant of camera software. Why not use a light variant of the software used in their premium-phones?
