I saw one of the Gemini-Agena double launches when I was a kid. We lived in Fort Lauderdale and took my dad's boat all the way up to Merritt island to watch. Dad said it was a good launch to go to because we'd get two rockets instead of just one. I remember the Agena launching, then we waited an hour and a half for it to come around again so the Gemini could go chase after it. I'm glad my dad took us because I still remember it to this day.

I had forgotten how much New Shepherd looks like a flying phallus. So fun to watch.

Best thing about using Jack Black as a unit of measurement, his mother worked on the Apollo program.

Please say someone tagged Jack Black to let him know that he's now an absolute unit... of measure!

Textron also owns Bell helicopter and Beechcraft, not to mention Lycoming who make turbine and piston aircraft engines.

I am a cynical man. But seeing so many new rockets and projects from around the world along with true dreams like Starship really makes me exited for the next year.

Gee, I just had a conversation with a friend yesterday about space exploration and he wondered why there wasn't more. I told him the mass media doesn't pay much attention to space like they used to but the NASA web page and others like it are always available. So now I can send him this link to show that yes the world is still interested in space and yes there have been big advances this past year! And now 2024 is shaping up to be a very busy year!

I'm glad the Lucy probe is doing well! By random chance we were returning to Port Canaveral aboard Carnival's Mardi Gras the morning of Lucy's launch, and we were running at max speed so we could clear the launch range safety area in time. We made it into the port and cleared the range just in time to watch the launch from the deck of our ship...and it was glorious. An unexpected but wonderful end to a great cruise.

I read about the Vega upper stage on Ars Technica when the news came out. I hoped you would do a video on it. I was most curious about the architecture of the Vega upper stage, and how it was possible to "lose" only part of the stage.
