The Spirit of Fire survived a several week/month-long guerrilla campaign against Atriox's forces, despite being just... Old in equipment standards. Let's just say someone seemed to have ripped all the luck out of the Infinity and gave it to them.

Halo Wars 2 is the game I have played more hours in all my life. I just love it. Community still strong with it. You can find games against ai nonstop. I am amazed how many people are still playing it.

343i's Halo will never be Halo.

Not gonna lie, haven’t played Infinite in a fat minute but that trailer was cheddarful.

The Banish isn't necessarily stronger then the Covenant. I'm assuming your talking about Isabel's speech which was more to make Atriox seem more intimidating and attempt to scare the crew away (But failed) The Covenant couldn't contain the Banish because they already knew the Covenants secrets, weapon caches, shipyards etc and they were able to hire mercenaries or non-believers easily because the Great Journey was a pretty big lie that many didnt believe in it already, they just needed somewhere safe to flee too. The same could be said about Humanity, the Covenant struggled to 'contain' them as well

It was a great feat with great sacrifice. In 2559 when the conflict with the banished above the Ark takes place, the SoF would be 86 years old. It was a colony ship to begin with and was never truly built for battle, and as much as it has been heavily modified, the hardware, software and pretty much most things were so outdated that it's a testament to Cutter and ALL UNITS that they could hold them back and leave Atriox looking like a chump.

@@phatdog well, size wise the Covenant is king, but, we also know that Covenant’s main weakness was leadership, and the Banished seems to have a democratic election of the two best warriors to replace the last. Overall, the Banished in Halo Wars 2 are a mirror to the Covenant from Halo Wars 1, meaning that they put up as much of a fight, while being generally more intuitive than the Covenant.

​@@gameslayer3976The gist of the Banished is that they are almost 1:1 when it comes to fighting UNSC in isolated battles with no side getting reinforcements. Problem is that the Banished are also a scavenging personality cult full of craftsmen so unlike the UNSC who when loses orbital support have to immediately resort to some absurd final F you (Alpha Halo destruction, The Ark's isolated Halo fire), the Banished just pick up raw materials or scrap/abandoned hardware and turn it into actual useful materials, also the Covenant had a very intense support ship culture culture in the lore (considerably smaller ships with no defense) meaning they also have agricultural and "meat" ships in orbit and full-on departments and sections on the ships made to sustain the crew because the Covies usually went on space faring missions that could even take decades with no habitable planet or space station nearby. This is also why the Banished are barely suffering from famine in Zeta Halo and the infighting is happening out of boredom and tensions due to the hopeless situation of escaping Zeta while also needing to not leave it behind unattended.

As someone who has never played it, only watched the sick cutscenes. I feel it would do a lot better if it was like mixed fps/rts for some missions.

Wow I never expected the stanchion to end up in infinite, even as a model, I was already excited for the MA5 as someone who isn't a fan of the MA40/MA37 design. As for omega I definitely need August's set

I think I heard that halo wars 3 had been canceled which is really sad because I heard they were supposed to add space combat.

I agree mostly. I am personally hoping that Blue Team gets another shot in the games. All three of them are major contenders if Chief ever needs to be replaced for any reason but nobody would know that if you just go off of their showing in Guardians...

not gonna happan is the SoF is permastuck on the Ark with a fleet of UNSC Destroyers and a squad of Spartan-III Gamma to hold off the Banish.

Waves and waves of ground vehicles and troops are getting deployed. Halo 7: One Last Fight. The stuff they can do with the Spirit of Fire is probably the most excited I’ve been for Halo story in a LONG TIME. My imagination has been running wild

I don't think they can. The classic trilogy music was made for/by Bungie and the Halo Wars music was made by Ensemble. They can't use it all

I'm pretty sure the Spirit of Fire was the Largest UNSC ship prior to the Infinity. It was also a colony ship which was why it was able to build so many buildings for those bases in the Halo wars games (I want a 3rd Halo wars)

That's been asked for years and we got that from 343(I know shocker, they did something good) Even if they didn't do this, (and this is assuming you're a Bungie fanboy, sorry if not) Bungie would have never even if they wanted to keep making halo instead of going all out on destiny(which they worked on during odst) or especially the Bungie we have today, make forge ai in the first place

@@dramaticmudderer5208 Bungie had a tighter schedule and started to hate halo after microsoft fucked them over with Halo 2 and made 3 all the way to reach only out of obligation yet they still made them great due to their respect to their community (Just a shame they couldn't see Activision firing most of them and replacing almost every employee and making the worst game ever). Forge was already at it's limits mods for the original xbox (Yes people forget people could mod the thing) found that adding ai and bigger limits was basically impossible and that the game would overload if too much was added and that adding ai was almost impossible the most you could do was make them stand still and maybe shoot the player but making them move or interact with anything was a dream at the time. MCC made it possible with a stronger engine and Infinite has the strongest halo engine to date being the only one fully designed with forge ai in mind. Btw 343 doesn't care for the community hell halo 4 and 5 were basically giant middle fingers to the community as it was designed to NOT appeal to the community hell they made lies about Infinite because their attempts at appeasing other communities fucked them over which makes them even worse.

If they do the recent addition of a Covenant forge palette makes sense actually. Obvious SPOILERS ahead... ...but in one of the recent books following Shadow of Reach, remnants of Truth's Covenant come back into play right after the Banished raid the Anodyne Spirit left behind on the Ark. So if the event does tie in to the Spirit of Fire in current timeline, they'll be fighting both the Banished and Das Bhasvod's/Truth's Covenant

The Spirit of Fire, which by the time of HW2 was an 89 year old ship missing for 30 years, had done quite significant damage to the Banished with half a crew and has also previously fended off the spread of the flood without any help, they are by far one of the strongest crews still around even though the UNSC doesn't know that
