Actually it's basically confirmed that skid's dad is the cult leader by the sketches drawn by the creator of the Show itself. You can see them in the spooky month wiki.

Just wanna add that one of the boxes in the attic says "Remember Lila", my main theory is that the dad betrayed the cult for some reason and was turned into a spider as a punishment (Also he may or my not be losing his memories? Idk), he lives in the attic because: 1. It's the least used part of the house 2. There's a lot of stuff up there to help him remember what happened 3. There's probably something up there that the cultists need to do some sort of ritual 4. He can listen to his family from the attic, and act when he needs to

skid's father being a spider implies that there is a way to shapeshift or have your soul be sent into several different things that's quite alarming

I think that it's safe to assume Pump's parents are both still alive. Judging by their evident wealth, I don't think they lied about his parents always working. Of course, all that money could be just social security money given to Pump's grandpa, or money that Susie gets from her live streams, but both of those ideas are pretty far-fetched.

11:44 Another important thing in this scene is that if you look at the bucket with eyes you will see that when the spider grabs the mannequin the thing in the bucket looks at it and the eyes follows the mannequin's movement. For those wondering what that is, is the remains of the Happy Fella after the kids and the mom put him inside the oven and melt him. For those who doesn't know that doll was possessed by Dexter, the exterminator that was possessed by Moloch in episode 3 and that died after his neck snaped. After that his soul possessed the doll and later in episode 4 tried to kill the children, but this last thing you already knew it obviously. Some things that prove this are that in episode 4 the mom says that after getting that doll her kid was acting different and even asked for a cat when he doesn't likes cats. Dexter, as it was shown to us in episode 3, has a weird obsession with killing cats and the doll many time shown this same obssession in episode 4. Another prove is that the doll in episode 3 was normal until the exterminator died because after that, when they are in the sofa watching the TV we can see that the doll's pupils have changed and now it has Dexter's pupils (one eye has anormal pupil meanwhile the other has a black circle with the inside white as a pupil ). The last thing that proves this is that after they melt the doll in the oven and the mom's friend comes with another doll that also wants to kill all of them it says "Not again!" before being thrown inside the oven, which means that it was possessed by the same soul after leaving the melted doll and showing that both dolls were possessed by a soul. Now all of this may look like something not really important, but the fact that the remains of the doll were moving the eyes means that Dexter stills possessing the remains of the doll for some reason (probably because it didn't kill him at all) and that it stills up there in the attic being just a pile of ashes with two eyes. It also means that maybe in future episodes we will see more about the Happy Fella and Dexter because we all know at this point how much SrPelo loves making really important to the lore the most irrelevant things and details. Or maybe not and I just had a crazy theory. But what is sure is that the Happy Fella/Dexter it stills alive and probably suffering inisde that bucket

The funny thing about episode 6 is that all that chaos was just because 2 kids prank-called a demon

If you look at the picture that the fat thief puts on the bag (a picture of Skid’s dad) the spider is like on his arm. My theory was that somehow the spider is in a way representing eyes (idk how to word this) because I am a strong believer that the dad’s soul is in the mannequin and we saw the spider lifting the mannequin back up unless the spider IS the dad and he just manipulates everything in the attic like we saw it do with the mannequin. IM HORRIBLE AT EXPLAINING BUT I HAVE BEEN DOING THEORIES FOR TWO OR THREE YEARS ABOUT THIS

I think the "spider leg" on his dad's picture is simply just some wacky hair design. I mean it looks like a more grown out version of Skid's hair ends from that same picture

- Roy's uncle wasn't trying to abduct them... He was trying to S/A them :8, and has canonically done that to Roy as well untill Eyes killed him. - It's notable that the robbers also weren't taking traditionally "valuable" stuff such as money, jewelry, etc. For reference, Fat Thief was taking VHS tapes. - Some of the cult things at Skid's home had been shown before, at least since EP. 2 - Pump's parents work in a different state, this being confirmed by Pelo in a Father's Day art he drew back in 2022, I think - On the EP. 5 ARG, Dexter's patient file written by Patty foreshadowed her possession - Skid's dad is/was dead, he has his skeleton in the house itself kabddk. And yeah, he was a high-ranking member from the cult. That also helps explain why Skid isn't affected by Eyes or any other supernatural being unlike Pump and the Hatz Gang - In the ARGs of previous episodes, including the newest one of EP. 6, it's confirmed that 6 kids have gone missing and haven't appeared yet. Child kidnappings were common, but Frank's just had ransom money as motive, with the kids returning safely to their homes afterward. The cult, in the book pages revealed by the ARG, basically confirm they're concocting a pretty big ritual, thus why so many children have been disappearing recently, with Skid and Pump becoming potentially important sacrifices for this new ritual.

Things get far more interesting when you dig into the hidden lore via QR Codes in the videos, I havent solved the Hollow Sorrows one fully yet, but it's more than confirmed that Skid's Father was the head of the Cult of Eyes. Bob and the Clown are connected and I think were meant to be new heads of the Cult after indoctrination before they were killed and handled. We also can assume one of the people we see in Hollow Sorrows isnt just a Cult Member, but the one that burned down Johns home. Another major thing is Green Eyes, specifically how Pumps eyes are green whenever near danger ever since their encounter with Eyes, but also that Bob'seyes eventually turned green and how the spider had green rings in the view we got. There also from then on are what look like 2 North Stars but thats actually Eyes watching them. I assume that Skid's father was sacrificed via some form of facial disfigurement but became the Spider which keeps his family safe.

It's probably a red herring. The way the spider is shown reflects how previous villains for the next episode were teased. According to an old pelo tweet there should be 4 or 5 episodes left, there's no way they're formally introducing skid's father yet.

Ive been a fan of sr pelos spooky month series, and when they added lore, i wanted to see more of the story and it was intruding, also thanks for explaining the lore

Another thing i noticed that in the end credits of the episode, an art can be seen of the priest escaping molak and reaching towards the "eyes of the universe", which could tie up to it being the _god_ of the universe.

I have a very out there theory but hear me out... What if Skid's father is the Eyes of the Universe itself? My only evidence for this is the fact that Skid seems to be immune to Eyes' hypnotic effects

the Eyes of the Universe said in episode 2 to "always look at the stars". from THAT MOMENT onwards, you can see, in almost every shot of the sky, two very close stars one slightly bigger than the other. those are his Eyes, always watching. you can also see the same stars in every piece of art in the credits.

Imagine a story about two Halloween loving kids having deep lore

The only reason I know so much about this series is because my ex was obsessed with it, they literally drew corn of the murderer from episode 1

Because the latest spooky month episode came last month i strongly hope that we will get TWO spooky month episodes this year. Cause with what is givin to us, we need more.

that is a pretty good theory, also there some things to note: -in one off the banners in the mansion, there's is a symbol that looks like very similiar to a spider. so yeah, pretty much that the spider is related to the cult -moloch was not after the kids, the kids were just following the priest -the mayor is probably related to the cult, since you can see the cult symbol in his car

I think it makes more sense if the dad died, and then became a spider. I think the demon is going after them because he’s mad at them for locking him in their attic.

If the spider is skids father then he must be like pump because they both have big blue eyes so with this we could also say that skids father also knows eyes and I also have a theory because in episode 4 when skid pump and the happy fella make drawings, skids drawing absolutely foreshadowed episode 6. So my theory is that pumps drawing where their souls get sucked out by eyes is foreshadowing the next episode and 2 of the main antagonists being eyes and the spider that has the big blue eyes. BUT THATS JUST A THEORY!!! *A GAME THEORY*

I always had a feeling that the mannequin was Skid’s father with it always getting in the way of the antagonists while showing signs of moving, I only recently learnt that he was the spider with 6, also Dexter was a serial killer who killed animals so he wouldn’t have to kill humans to get his ‘needs’, he became the doll when he died, you can tell from the connections in sayings/voice quirks, as well as him asking skid to get a cat just like what he did for with his mom’s cats.

i also noticed some stuff like the spiders eyes being green like the killer's and pump's. Pump first gets these green eyes once he looks at the eyes of the universe and since the killer is tied to the cult somehow he might've looked at the eyes of the universe too. i also noticed that Skid didn't get hypnotized by the eyes of the universe in episode 2 meaning he is somehow resistant to the eyes of the universe.

One thing I noticed was that in the police car in the newest episode, John was looking at a picture with him and his daughter and his daughter had a halo above her head. I believe that this was trying to indicate that John’s daughter had passed.

Idk if you noticed this yet or not But At episode 2 : you can see skid cant possesed by the eyes of the universe, it mean skid have the connection to the eyes of the universe And from episode 5, we know, it was his father Episode 3+ : you can see the sky, there is star like little eyes. We remember at episode 2 the eyes of the universe said "always look at the star". And we can see, there is eyes at the sky. So it mean the star was the eyes of the universe Edit : i forgor, but the eyes that show up at the star, is always, when i say always, its ONLY show up when skid and pump at the scene(maybe)

My personal theory is that eyes himself is skid's dad And that he had a more human-like form that he would take the appearance of before the events of spooky month And because he is no longer allowed to leave the area that he is currently in. He uses the spider to watch Over his family. I've also seen multiple theories about the way pump's eyes change to be blue sometimes, from theories to it Being that he's possessed by eyes temporarily, To his eyes changing with fear, to anything Paranormal being nearby causing his eyes to glow. But there's a detail I noticed that I think makes it more sense than any of those: Bob's eyes also glowed blue after being Attacked with the amount of strength that would kill a normal person. It is later revealed that he had a amulet on him, an amulet With a similar gem to the ring that skids, dad wears. Perhaps Skid's parents or whoever it was that actually gave him the pumpkin mask Also embedded one of those gems somewhere inside that thing, And the only reason he didn't have blue eyes before is because there's a key ingredient that activates the gems power: Meeting eyes or Perhaps eyes has to give the gemstone power by touching it and by grabbing onto pump, he gifted pump his power because of the pumpkin mask he wears.

Another hint that Skid’s family has ties to Eyes is the fact he actually resists Eye’s powers. Everyone else when seeing Eyes gets put into a trance while Skid is completely unaffected even his pupils staying the same meanwhile everyone else that views him gets affected immediately

...well, i guess the ooga booga girl is the sister of roy's friend(i guess it's name is robert?), since at the sectret ending of episoe 2 she gets hit by the cops and she is later hospitalized. in episode 5 robert says"you know, it's for my sister..." implying he is gathering candy to bring up his sisters morale. but this is just a conjecture...

Wait, remember the part when eye grabbed them skid was not infected by the side effects

Something else I feel should be pointed out is when skid and pump met that elderigde god every episode from then on pump's eyes glowed a blue tint everytime something weird Happened but skid seemed uneffected by this god and has shown no signs unlike pump. Which could also hint to skid being a hybrid of some sort to. Being immune to the effects of the god

Sr Pelo's Spooky Month is such an underrated indie-animated series! The progression of things starting out with silliness and Skid/Pump constantly being unphased with everything around them to becoming more serious was really well done (also Father Gregory quickly became one of my favorite characters)! ^^

The Spider could be also methophorical like as in " a web of crimes " aka he betrayed the cult. And what do webs do? They stick things to themselves, So the literal reason for Skids Dad to not be there is because he doesn't want Lila or Skid to be hurt and get stuck in his web of crimes. Speaking of the watcher of the universe, after or during episode 2, you can see a certain pair of stars in almost every outside scene/or every scene with either Skid or Pump outside with the sky in view, this could probably be the watcher looking down upon everyone.

Skid wasn't affected by the Eyes of the Universe while Pump was. Meaning he probably has seen them before, while Pump breaks the hold and now has the ability to see demons and spirits (ie his eyes turn the teal color every time thwy dealing with one)

I’ve literally got into this series last year. And I so wanna know more about it since they have lore now. And emotions.

now this isn't REALLY lore important but June is the mother of one of the bullies, not only do they have similar mouth designs but June also mentions having a kid that is out on spooky month (episode 5) and earlier on in that same episode we see a portrait with the unnamed husband to June and the bully kid (I don't remember his name because Roy is the only name they bang us over our heads with)

Honestly… I wonder if becoming a spider is a ‘blessing’ to the cult, like what happens in “A Shadow Over Innsmouth” from HP Lovecraft eldritch horror stories. Cause when Bob broke into the house for Lila, the mannequin was positioned infront of him to make it seem like THAT caused the squeaking noise and not Lila. If he was still on board with the cult, he wouldn’t have done that and just let Bob have his meal. I think that Skid’s dad was a sacrifice for the cult that they build up to BE something major and was the only sacrifice that ever succeeded so far(why the portrait was in the grand staircase). Then the tax of being the sacrifice came about and he started to become the spider(why some photos have the weird spider leg and others don’t). Then after realizing their mistake and realizing his kid… a fatherless child who wants to KNOW about their dad/make them proud could be swayed by the cult by false promises of answers and maybe even giving Skid a old robe and necklace(like what we see in with the old stuff) that belonged to his father… sounds like the perfect bait for a trap.

Yeah I don't think Bob ALWAYS was a killer or wanted to Kill Lila, he was definitely told to by the cult. Also I have a theory that John, the mustache policeman's, daughter is a cult member. The reason we see pictures of her only as a young child and then in that angel costume, plus her name being Hope, is ties to how John has hope he can save his daughter from the clutches of the cult, and the pictures are him preserving those days of her innocence when she was young and John felt he could protect her from any "monsters". Note that when he says to Pump "parents love their kids, no matter what" and you watch the real ending on Newgrounds of tender Treats, you see a picture of John and his daughter in his wallet right next to a picture of a cultist. I first thought this could be his wife and it still could be, but now after episode 6 I think it's his daughter who is that cultist member as a picture in his wallet and he keeps both pictures there to remind him who that member is and what he's doing to stop them.

I think the spider is the guardian and possibly controlled by eyes as shown with the blue rings. I think eyes is trapped rather there under a cult that worships him as a god. Thus why he liked the kids because unlike the cult, they did not see him as "god" but rather just another being. Essentially being his only time to ever feel "human" in the metaphorical sense. Yes he's the eyes of the universe and knows all, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have hopes or ideas he thrives for.

While this is possible, I feel like it’s either that the spider is an insider of the cult who made a promise to skids father, or the eyes of the universe protects his family by letting him protect them through the dummy, or the spider is just spying and on the end of the newest episode, it had enough of the dummy.

Looking at the photos of Skid’s father in the background then seeing him as a spider reminds me of a story titled “The Metamorphosis”. The guy in that story used to be a hardworking man who hated his job, then all of sudden turned to a big. Instead of a spider, the guy turned into a giant beetle. Wonder what caused Skid’s dad to become a giant spider

The spider leg in the photo of Skid's dad is actually his hair, which is confirmed in the slightly more detailed photo of him at the end of the episode 6 ARG. Though I think it's likely that it's meant to resemble a spider leg, so that's worth looking into

nah the spider was probably a posessed spider by eyes to watch the robbers and make sure they dont die during robbing, or eyes doesnt have to do anything with the robbers and the cult. Because eyes does appear like 10 times in the hollow sorrows episode (as some big shiny stars, to bê exact, two.)

The spider bearing Skid’s father adds up in almost every way. The only thing I wonder though is the mirror in the same scene as the spider running in the floor, the reflection looks like the mannequin in the attic, like the mannequin is hunted.

From what I remember I think there’s a on going Spooky Month Arg as well as a older one that o think could help with understanding the lore better :D

Theory: the spider was originally human and skid's father but the cult took him and turned him into a horrific huge spider and they just, forgot... About that...

I think that spooky month has some of the best writing in the entire indie animation sphere, the amount of time sr pelo spends writing really pays off!
