@Death Claw Yes, you're technically correct but a tying goal with two seconds remaining after being up 3-0 would have been a crusher.

Winning a game by complete luck isn't a good sign. I'm not a fan of either team here but wow. That was something else. I do hope islanders win tho. Its gonna take more then that crazy luck to save them in the coming games.

I’m a penguins fan too myself. I’m personally routing for the Knights (Fleury) or the isles. Any team that can survive the offensive beating the penguins put on them in the first round deserves that cup. But I totally agree, this years playoffs have been wild and super entertaining. And even though I hate the habs I can’t lie, Price deserves that cup.

This year's playoffs have been unique because at this point none of the division winners have seen each other. I'm an Isles fan from the early eighties and hoping they can close out the Barn in style. Pens fans have nothing to feel bad about, being the last team to repeat as champs.

Pens fan. Best playoffs since the repeat. Ugly drama and big upsets: McDavid without gaps is average, Kadri sinks teams, Maple laughs are cursed. Good stuff

@@bradmacarthur3810 if he's an islanders fan and they lose the series, and especially if Lightning also win Cup again, he and every other Islanders fan won't give two sh!ts about seeing that play again, it will only be a painful gut punch reminder of another close, but ultimately lost Season to the eventual Stanley Cup Champions, or least runner ups if lose it, but either way that's just how it is to a die hard fan of a sport, and team, it would be like seeing a replay on a store's cctv in a future time in which you missed getting an eventual $400,000,000 lottery ticket winner, as the person in front of you grabbed it at the last second only cause he happened to have 2.00 change from what he actually went to store to buy, when you were there solely for a ticket waiting in line, knowing it 100% would've been yours if not for that chance, it wouldn't be a happy memory because you did everything right, picked right store, right time, but for a minute sooner, fact is, like that, in Playoffs the further you make it, and the better your team plays, and closer they are to victory, the more painful and heartbreaking the loss that you rather forget forever

Hands down islanders fans are the loudest with the best chants in the nhl. No doubt

Montreal and the isles though are two teams who don't have many stars but just a very solid lineup of quality nhlers literally throughout all 4 lines. Personally I think that's the way to go. Some will prefer the loaded top 6 but all 4 teams left have 3-4 lines they can roll out at any time.

"2 unanswered" ... you mean "2 in a row" ... they were down 3-0 ... the two they scored were "answers" to the previously "unanswered" goals by the Islanders. Like conversation, a goal cannot both be a question and an answer. The Islanders had scored 3 unanswered goals until the Lightning answered with 2 goals in a row. Martin's goal was the only unanswered goal in the game ultimately. Yes. I am being pedantic, but the use of "unanswered goals" incorrectly is out of control, and I blame hockey announcers and commentators for it.

Great observation, you would think the islanders would know this by now, the problem is not that the islanders don’t know it, it’s the islanders don’t have a big time forward like Mcdavid, Kane, ovechkin, Crosby to make them pay on the PP or when they make a mistake. Tampa is not afraid of Eberle, Beauvillier, Komarov, Bailey.

All so amazing and I know I’m forgetting some 😂 one of my favourites so far was the Habs/Knights game 3 but that’s probably biased cause I’m a fan ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ just amazing hockey all around

Up to that point, the home team won the first 6 games and Fleury stopped the wings momentum at the end to steal game 7. Only cup final series I can think of where home team won every game was when the devils beat the ducks I believe in 2003.

As an Islanders fan, I hate the rangers myself but I'm terrified of their future with their young talent.

Would be nice to see the Isles skate around with the cup one last time at Nassau...They won their first cup against Flyers in game 6 in OT in that building. I am a Bruins fan but I did pick the Isles to beat the B's in 6 games because of Varlamov, Isles depth and Barry Trotts coaching.

No pun intended but Price has been worth his weight in Gold. I am a Bruins fan and i wish they could have got him about 5 years ago, The B's would have won it last year and maybe this year with Price but the Habs would have looked bad trading Price since he is the face of the franchise and a crown jewel in Canada the way he carries himself.

On the real, Islander fans were upset when JT left (understatement of the decade), but it turned out to be the best thing that's happened to the Islanders in a long time

I still call him Pajama Boy for that. But I never imagined it'd turn out to be a textbook definition of addition by subtraction. Now that I look at his numbers over his entire career especially his +/-, he's maybe the most overrated player in the NHL
