Srebrenica Genocide Resolution Receives International Support Despite Serbia’s Protest

16 днів томуThe vote on the Srebrenica genocide resolution is scheduled to take place at the beginning of May. If adopted, July 11 would be designated The International Day of Remembrance of the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide. It has been put forward by Germany and Rwanda and backed by the United States, Italy, Turkiye, France and other nations. But it has been strongly rejected by Serbia and Bosnian Serbs whose leader Milorad Dodik, once again, denied the genocide, organised the protest, and vowed that if it passes, the majority Serb entity would split from the rest of the country.

Later, decades later they'll start talking about what happened but never about their approval and passivity during genocide process itself. Despicable. To my surprise, though the genocide against Armenians is a classical case in recent History, you are correct that I see no UN official day of remembrance! Surprising. Specific UN committees, working on the modern definition of Acts of Genocide, do though recognize the Armenian Genocide. I know a lot of progress has been made in Canada and Quebec also. Turkey supports the current resolution, but ironically does not recognize the Armenian genocide, and some in Turkey give arguments to justify it! (akin to how Israelis now attempt to "justify" genocide)

The "genocide" in which General Mladic transferred Muslim children and women from Srebrenica to Tuzla by bus at their request. And before that, the commander of the Muslim forces Naser Oric escaped from Srebrenica. After that, the Muslim army left the civilians behind and tried to break through the territory controlled by the Serbs to Tuzla. Thus, zero civilian casualties and several thousand (estimated around 3000) killed Muslim soldiers.

Why did the media cover up the events that were key to understanding this drama? In 1993, the Serbs were expelled in an ethnic cleansing operation carried out by the Muslim nationalist army. French General Morillon, who commanded the UN forces in that region, said: "On Orthodox Christmas Eve in January 1993, the Muslim Naser Orić stormed Serbian villages... Heads were cut off, eyes were gouged out and terrible massacres were committed in Serbian villages." The desire for revenge does not justify the crimes committed later. But why are the crimes of Muslims systematically covered up? No one was held accountable for crimes against Serbs in the municipalities of Bratunac, Skelani, Milići, Kelesija, Srebrenica and Zvornik.

Hypocrisy at the highest level.. the countries that did genocide against the Serbian population are accusing Serbs of same.. Turkey have committed genocide against the Serbian population during the Ottoman Empire reign, from the 14th to the early 20th century (six centuries).. during those six centuries, Serbs were second class citizens.. Serbian little children (toddlers) were taken away from their parents, and they would grow up as Turkish.. Germany in both, first and second world wars, have killed around four million of the Serbian population.. the US and Britain are the countries that killed most of the people, throughout history.. the US started with their Aboriginal Indians, and the rest we all know.. the same thing with Britain, killing Aboriginal people in Australia.. do I have to mention India, British colony, and so on and so forth..

It was a mistake at the time. For a population of several million people the murder of 8000 of them, even if a terrible crime, cannot be called a genocide. Indeed what's killing Bosnia and Hercegovina these days is the abysmal birth rate of 1.35 children per woman, unique in the Muslim world. At the time of the Srebrenica mass murder, the demography was still much more lively.

The mere fact that the Serbs destroyed every single mosque they got their hands on (over 600 mosques were levelled with the ground!), proves intention of getting rid of Bosniak population due to their religion. It has nothing to do with how many they've killed, it is the intention. And don't forget, over 150k innocent civilians were murdered, Srebrenica is just a smaller part of the whole. Then raping tens of thousands of women and girls (there was even rape camp, search 'rape hotel in Bosnia'), tens of thousands innocent molested men and boys in concentration camps. You ignorantly oversimplified over 8k killed in Srebrenica, that's not genocide. The world did one dirty to Bosnia and reduced genocide in Srebrenica "only" because it was the most atrocious case but the truth is, whole Bosnia is Srebrenica!

Do you even know what the definition of genocide is? …violent attacks with the specific intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group….you tell me this didn’t happen in Srebrenica and I will tell you that Srebrenica was not genocide. So please do your research first.

@@AC-gp4ew The factual truth about the genocide - which most people in Serbia do not want to see, know about or accept - ghostly figures denounce a society of moral breakdown, a community of zombies; instead of silence and complicity, they express sympathy and solidarity with the victims by disclosing long-known facts. People in Serbia glorify war criminals and those convicted of war crimes and the Srebrenica Genocide. Because of such, this UN resolution is needed to remind the people of the world that Genocide should never be allowed to happen to any people.
