One of the greatest reasons Dooku left the order was when he was sent to a planet to rescue civilians from a catastrophic event (I forgot what it was) but millions died due to it even with Dooku’s help. After the calamity the republic seemed more concerned on the loss of resources then of life.

In Legends, it's the Battle of Galidraan. While in Canon, that would be a certain incident in Raxus which explains Mace Windu's promotion into the High Council and Dooku being sidelined. In my opinion, I think the Legends one is far worse than what he faced in the Canon timeline. In fact, it is the reason why Jango Fett became a bounty hunter.

I'll never understand why they cut this scene or why they did so little with Dooku. Imagine if he'd been in Episode I, had scenes with Qui Gon and they fleshed out his relationship with Yoda, Mace and by proxy Kenobi. Dooku is literally connected to most of the influential Jedi and Lucas, nor later creators like Filoni did ANYTHING with that. Such a waste. Aside from Dark Rendezvous, Legacy of the Jedi and a bit of the RotS novelization we get virtually no insight into Dooku or his relationships.

In Canon Count Dooku left the Order long before Qui Gon died he just didn’t turn to the darkness until after Qui Gons death. Though Qui Gon may have introduced Anakin to him at somepoint I find it unlikely as heck Obi Wan never Met Dooku until Geonosis, Dooku even saying “it is a pity our paths have never crossed before, Qui Gon always spoke very highly of you”

This scene should’ve been in the movie. Even if it ruins the mystery, it develops Dooku as this great Jedi who saw corruption in the Republic and wanted to fix it. That is the core of the character. I like seeing people, especially Jedi, appreciate him. The sad thing was that Dooku didn’t know what he really signed up for until the moment of his death.
@WhenYouveGoneGuru2 роки тому
This definitely should have been left in the film. Even when I first saw it I felt Dooku just came out of nowhere with his terrible name. Obi Wan clearly knows who he is and the way he says his name makes it sound like we're supposed to know who he is too. Now we know why, because we were supposed to know.

@captainguyman73822 роки тому
Anakin being the chosen one had nothing to do with being a free thinker. It was in line with the republic. It was also prophecy come true, so whatever Qui Gon sensed was true.
@theboneisin2 роки тому
@@captainguyman7382 right but the council didnt want anakin to be trained as a jedi because they sensed that he would become space hitler. qui gon however defied the council because he was an individual thinker and still wanted anakin to be trained. if it wasnt qui gons dying wish, anakin wouldnt have been trained by kenobi.
@christopherstein2024Рік тому
@@theboneisin Whenever I think about these scenarios I find that the prophecy is ruining everything. You can't have an exiting story when it is already laid out by a prophecy. Of course this is in line with the these movies being the prequels, however why is the prophecy declared as truth? Is space hitler really a chosen one or is that just an idea to tie the two trilogies together? "Is he not the chosen one? Is he not to destroy the sith and bring balance to the force?" "So the prophecy says. "A prophecy that misread could have been." Seeing the whole chosen one thing as a failure seems much more logical to me. My head canon is that you can be chosen but you also have to be worthy. Anakin could have brought balance to the force but he wasn't worthy as he resisted letting go. Luke achieved it in the end willing to sacrifice himself.
@jasonbusch84752 роки тому

How abrasive the cut is in the final film makes much more sense based on this deleted scene. She starts asking if Obi-Wan called for assistance, then when he says yes she asks if he’s having a problem as if he didn’t just answer her question. It’s a bit jarring when you watch the theatrical cut. This deleted segment of the conversation recontextualizes her abrasiveness into getting herself back on topic after she strayed away into a tangent. And yes, this dialogue absolutely should have been left in.

You know, after seeing how bad the Republic was, and how similar it and the Empire are to my own country, America... I'm kind of on Dooku's side. Key word, kind off. I think the Clone Wars was not good vs evil, it was evil vs evil. Both the Republic and Confederacy did the most terrible war crimes you could do until the Empire destroyed Alderaan, and were lead by some of the most corrupt people in the galaxy. And even the Jedi did the most terrible things you can imagine. Barriss and Luke were right. The Jedi either have to go, or if Rey wants to found a new order, it can't be the Jedi. It has to be a new force order.
@sarveshnathan7559Рік тому
"I think the Clone Wars was not good vs evil, it was evil vs evil" As the ROTS opening crawl said "Evil is everywhere."
@TimberlakeTigerGirlРік тому
As crappy as the sequel trilogy were, they did do one thing right. And that is putting an end to both the Sith and the Jedi for good. Throughout galactic history, their never ending war with each other caused so much death and destruction for countless worlds. The Jedi and the Sith were two sides of the same coin: both strove to be a galactic powerhouse in their own ways. Each side caused many atrocities that are unforgivable. With Sidious truly dead for good, the Sith are unlikely to return as he was the last one. And Ben, Luke and Leia passing away, along with the destruction of ancient Jedi records by Yoda's ghost, means that the Jedi order is finished. Rey now has the chance to create a new order, one that does not put dark and light against each other. But have them work together in harmony and balance and thus be stronger in the Force. As it is known that darkness and light cannot exist without each other or there is no balance. The Jedi shunned the darkness, and the Sith turned away the light. As a result, they were both out of balance and, over time, fell apart due to their own failings.
