Mannequin was an awesome movie. A great classic. The 80s ruled back then and they still rule today. I'm honored and privileged to have been able to live my childhood in such a great time. I was born in 88. I loved this song growing up. My parents were married in 92 and this was their wedding song. I can still remember them dancing together with tears of joy in their eyes. Now when I look at my dad I think of those moments because my mom has been gone since 2015 and he plays this song all the time.

Some of the best times in my life are brought back by hearing Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship and Starship. Life was so good back then. No cell phone or computer stress, No social media BS to deal with. Just GREAT MUSIC on the new FM frequency.

Missing the 80’s & 90’s

Listening to it today in the car on my playlist. It hadn't finished by the time I had parked at home, so I just sat in my car and sang and listening till it finished. I don't usually do this to any song and guess what, when it finished, I played it again. It actually made me cry on a very deep level. Yes, nostalgia from when I was a kid but it was something more that got me. I've been through a very trying situation the last 7 years, splitting from my partner who I have two children with.( I never listened to this song with my partner so thankfully there is no connection with them.) I discovered many a great things about myself, my habitual behaviours that stemmed from childhood and most of all I discovered what self love is. I mentally have grown so much and for the first time in my life quite comfortable being on my own. ...However, my favourite lines in the song, "put your hand in my hand, don't ever look back" and "put your arms around Baby, don't ever let go", really got to me. Undeniably, there is a feeling that to have someone to go through life's journey, that really supports you, to say things are going to work out and needs you too, harks back to that basic , even primitive origins that we to be in pairs.

Modern generation will never know what is was like to be a part of musical history in the making. The 80s will never die... It'll just keep getting revived 🍾🥂🍸♥️

At 72 , I still go back in time from Jefferson Airplane of the 60s to Starship until Grace stepped down & they always have been & continue to be one of my absolute favorite bands. Grace with her remarkable & powerful vocals always cause chill and a smile. I can't imagine a time without hearing her everyday as well as the Starship. Thank you for the miles of smiles and fantastic memories.

This song would also be perfect for two tv tropes Brooding Guy/Gentle Girl and Strong Girl/Smart Guy. The Brooding Guy/Gentle Girl thing is about a brooding guy who has dark or serious moments but the gentle girl spreads some cheer and helps him lighten up or open up more. Next, The Strong Girl/Smart Guy thing is about a Girl who relies on her brawn, strength, and power against enemies in battle while the smart guy relies on his brains, intellect, and strategy to help figure things out for the strong girl and to come up with plans and to plan their next move.

I heard this song when I was 10 and I couldn't understand nothing at all and I learned English to understand every word in this song. It's been 30 years since I promised myself to learn and speak English. The teacher that inspired me passed away 2 years ago. Her name was Alice from Dgo, Mexico and I miss her a Lot.

The music and movies of the 80's was unlike and generation before us and also that have come and gone after us. The music had real soul to it. It spoke to us in our spirits, not just our ears. I was born in 1974 but man, the 1980's will probably be the best decade going into the next millennium. Best music, best cartoons, best movies, etc. Thanks to the internet the 80's will live on forever but if you didn't get to experience it first hand I feel sorry for you.
