@@wowjack8944 So apparently a long time graduate student with whom Tyson -- according to him -- dated for a short period of time at Harvard, has accused him of rape. She's been saying this since 2010, but now two other women have filed a complaint. Not to choose sides, but the other two complaints are ridiculous to say the least: one complained about him rubbing her shoulders, the other one about him touching her tattoo of the solar system on her arm Lol. And the main girl has accused him of drugging her out to find him giving her oral sex. After which she felt violated and all the typical #metoo slogans and dropped out of university to study "music healing" or something like that. Doesn't sound like a hard case to win I guess.

@@mountainmangames3613 What you wrote looked fair at first glance. Do you mean that if we accused someone of something a decade ago without evidence, that person would no longer be innocent and must be doubted until they manage to produce something to prove otherwise? Hmm... sounds like someone's life could be ruined without concrete evidence whatsoever as long as they can't prove those random allegations wrong. Let's start throwing allegations all over the place then... oh wait... isn't that exactly what people have been doing already... oh boy.
@jmcsquared18
@jmcsquared18 5 років тому
@@mountainmangames3613 Yes, the problem is that if allegations come forward and no conclusion can ultimately be drawn, we must treat the accused party as innocent. That's not what the left thinks, with the current trend right now of women accusing men of misconduct decades prior. It wouldn't be a problem if the left accepted innocence until proven guilty, but they don't because it goes against their narrative of men as oppressors.
@mountainmangames3613
@mountainmangames3613 5 років тому
jmcsquared let me answer both of your guys questions at the same time. It’d be easier. For you (I’m writing on mobile and can’t see your name, but the first guy who responded) if you do it correctly, it won’t ruin anyone’s life’s, until the final evidence has been brought forth. For example, Bill Cosby. Even with all of the accusations we still have to believe he was innocent and guilty, why they were lying and telling the truth. Preventing any damage in theory, until the court filed their rulings and delivered their decisions. Which as we all know, he is guilty. As for you jmcsquared, the “left” don’t automatically believe either one. Well, let me rephrase. We don’t automatically believe the alleged attacker, mainly because of two reasons. 1. Women who come out and say they were attacked have a LOT to loose. look at Dr. Ford. She gained no money from that, she got death threats to herself and her family and she had to move to a different location because she feared for her life. She gained nothing. If you would like you can DM me via email and we can discuss this further. But saying that just because it happened a long time ago makes you immune to what you did is just...well bullshit. I know I didn’t answer your question fully, but if you want to email me I will gladly do it there. 18:46 For real, earlier today I was thinking, "Then what is the difference between a neutron star and a black hole, besides the obvious?" This is the first StarTalk video to have me burst into tears. Not helping is that I had a rough day anyway but I have for *YEARS* not understood what a black hole is, and now I think this video explains it perfectly. The size of the black hole, as explained by NDT in another video, is measured by the event horizon, but the event horizon, as explained here, is the edge of the shadow created by the actual black hole. There is nothing there. In another video, NDT explains that you would actually be conscious as you fell into the event horizon and before you die, you would actually be *aware* of not only your surroundings, but of quite possibly a whole other universe opening up before you, which can exist inside the black hole. (Btw, In his book "Death by Black Hole", NDT explains that spaghettification doesn't occur with every black hole, only smaller ones relative to your size; has to do with the size ratio of the black hole and you as a person.) Chuck Nice finally asks the question that no one else ever seems to ask, and that is: but when two black holes are colliding, what exactly is colliding. When Janna says, "Spacetime itself", I basically broke down. (On a rewatch, I still teared up - I think this is important stuff lol.) By the way, all shadows are 3-dimensional, but what we see and call a shadow a "shadow" is the 2-D image that represents the lack of light on, say, the ground or a wall. But the shadow itself is being cast like a beam of dark. So a tree in sunlight will have a 3-D shadow cast shooting perfectly straight from its leeward side (as it were) that you can, as Janna says, step in and out of without feeling anything. (What you would feel is the sudden lack of radiation emitting from the sun, which is why the shadow of the tree is cooler and more refreshing; has nothing to do with ambient air temperature. Source: startalk again!)

They mentioned early in the show that Eisnstein was alone in formulating the General Theory of Relativity, however there was at least one other scientist, the English Physicist David Hilbert that was working on a similar approach to Einstein's take. In fact they exchanged correspondence just before and after Einstein’s publication of General Relativity. There was some discussion in later years as to the degree that Einstein coud have stolen Hilbert’s idea but that has been discredited lately. Below an excerpt from Wikipedia on the main points of the dispute: "Before 1997, "the commonly accepted view was that David Hilbert completed the general theory of relativity at least 5 days before Albert Einstein submitted his conclusive paper on this theory on 25 November 1915. Hilbert's article, bearing the date of submission 20 November 1915 but published only on 31 March 1916, presents a generally covariant theory of gravitation, including field equations essentially equivalent to those in Einstein's paper" (Corry, Renn and Stachel, 1997). Since the discovery of printer's proofs of Hilbert's paper of Nov 20, dated 6 Dec 1915, which show a number of differences from the finally published paper, this 'commonly accepted view' has been challenged.[10] Whether Einstein got the correct mathematical formulation for general relativity from Hilbert, or formulated it independently. Points at issue: * The content of Hilbert's November 16 letter/postcard to Einstein is not known. It is however, clear[according to whom?] from Einstein's response that it was an account of Hilbert's work. * It is not known what was on the missing part of Hilbert's printer proofs. The missing portion is large enough to have contained the field equations in an explicit form. There are several competing speculations about the content of the missing piece. * Based on the above, it is not known whether Hilbert had formulated the field equations in an explicit form before December 6 (the date of the printer's proofs) or not. It is known from the proofs that Hilbert introduced four non-covariant equations in order to specify the gravitational potentials g g^{{}} and that this approach was dropped from his revised paper. Whether Hilbert ever tried to claim priority for the field equations - it seems clear that he regarded the theory of general relativity as Einstein's theory. What Hilbert thought he was referring to when he used the term "equations of my theory" about Einstein's research. Hilbert made a similar remark in a letter to Karl Schwarzschild.[B 1]"

Yes. The difference I think is that David Hilbert was actually figuring out the math of the field equations right around the same time Einstein was struggling with the math. In Walter Isaacson’s biography of Einstein I recall he comments on Einstein's desire to publish as soon as possible as if he felt he was in some sort of race to publish. The fact that Poncaré insisted on the use of the Ether and did not address the issues of time dilation put him a bit behind into moving from ideas to an actual probable theory that could be proved and poked around. That’s my take. I know there is a lot of controversy , in some circles, around that.

My impression is that Einstein, being the more intuitive thinker, found the field equations in a long long trial and error process. Meanwhile Hilbert, being the mathematician, thought that it was necessary to derive them from first principles (SRT limit, Newtonian limit, general covariance). So Einstein had A solution, Hilbert knew it was the only one possible.

Einstein was a fraud, wife beater, communist and a racist Jew-supremacist. He stole the works of Heinrich Hertz, Philipp Lenard, James Maxwell, Josiah Gibbs, Ludwig Boltzmann, Friedrich Hasenöhrl and others.

19:40 True that the image of a hole is a total misrepresentation about what is a "black hole"... The French were right on this.
@XxKidnoffxX
@XxKidnoffxX 4 роки тому
I agree, but I think the french doesn't like 'black hole' because it can be racist and offensive. Everytime we talk about a black thing, or any subject like that, specially if it came from a non black person, it's a delicate task. And yes i'm french. Today it's idiot to think 'Black hole' can be offensive, but I can understand the people at that time who just want to avoid a possible problem with that... But hey, is it really inappropriate to say something black, that it's black...?

charlidog2 are you comparing yourself with Einstein? You’re lucky to live in a world where million of people ara atheists, we have access to the truth, you’re not that special or outsider. Einstein was alone with his brilliant mind in a world where he didn’t has power and he had to prove his theory perfectly and even after that we was misunderstood, that must be frustrating.

Albert Einstein also predicted today's economy. He said the 1% will control the news, media and educational system to intentionally make children Dumber so that they worship Authority. "Private capital tends to become concentrated in few hands, partly because of competition among the capitalists, and partly because technological development and the increasing division of labor encourage the formation of larger units of production at the expense of smaller ones. The result of these developments is an oligarchy of private capital the enormous power of which cannot be effectively checked even by a democratically organized political society. This is true since the members of legislative bodies are selected by political parties, largely financed or otherwise influenced by private capitalists who, for all practical purposes, separate the electorate from the legislature. The consequence is that the representatives of the people do not in fact sufficiently protect the interests of the underprivileged sections of the population. Moreover, under existing conditions, private capitalists inevitably control, directly or indirectly, the main sources of information (press, radio, education). It is thus extremely difficult, and indeed in most cases quite impossible, for the individual citizen to come to objective conclusions and to make intelligent use of his political rights." - Albert Einstein

"Albert Einstein also predicted today's economy" Well, it was hardly a "grand" prediction was it. Einstein simply took the Pareto principle to its inevitable conclusion. Don't get me wrong, I love Einstein, I just think most of the credit should be given to Vilfredo Pareto.
