I am a 73 year old Canadian male who spent most of my life in music. I've never hit "the big time" but have supported myself well and am happy with my life so far. lol My comment to you Mr. Tyson is, Thank You! I never had the advantage of education (left school in grade ten due to no family support) but I've always had a deep interest in WHY? Since following yourself and your scientific colleagues for many years online now, I feel I've learned so many things, from Quantum Mechanics to the histories of the greatest scientists. I hope that in the future, other "disadvantaged" folks like me, continue to learn from people like you. I feel I have become part of a scientific community, if not for my education, at least for my curiosity. And being curious is what keeps me active in life, music and happiness. Have a great day sir and again, Thank You!!

@St0rm Ranger I was working with computers in 1972, when they filled two whole rooms and programming was done with jumper wires you'd plug into a wire-frame. Today is childs play compared with what we did. It was a long road to get them to the point where any four-year old and some chimpanzees can swipe a phone.

@Joe Horn like I said if you're so "smart" and look at movies and get mad when they don't equate to what you been told is accurate how in the hell did he say "u know we went to the moon because they had just enough fuel to get ti the moon and back" ???? Wtf kinda flawed logic is that? "Uuu know I went to Florida from NY cause i had just enough fuel to get to Florida and back" lol how about i just drove around NY blocks or i even went to PA back and forth a couple of times or to Wisconsin!?? But if you think thia dude is smart idk bro... He regurgitates stuff he's OBVIOUSLY not a problem solver imagine he was a detective or even a politician hes better off narrating tv shows and regurgitating sht he heard/learned from OTHERS he's NOT (absolutely not) a critical thinker. Just a quick question about black holes.I read that black holes have singularity that have one dimensional point and black holes are formed by stars after getting collapsed under their own gravity, then how it is possible to have one dimensional point because if its a point then it should be said to be a zero dimensional point,as one dimensional objects have one axis which is a straight line.

Humanity is distracted or don't care about it. It's just astonishing the views are so less. But for them , to get such videos recommend to them by the algorithm will only happen if they make that choice or have that need to learn or question. They're still too busy with their own thing and hopefully will watch it someday. It comes from within and from your peers. So , I guess that says a lot.

You guys are doing a great job not only of popularising science but also encouraging the the curious mind ! Biology misses out a bit though. Our intelligence as a species is not exactly a neglected topic ! But how about the opposing thumb ! Binocular vision is also an impressive development ! I think my point is that both ‘hardware’ and ‘software’ are significant in explaining our development and dominance as a species ! My major concern as a threat is our species is our tendency to hubris ! Like our intellectual feet get ahead of awareness of existential risk in our success in dominating the environment on our planet ! Good job on some principles of biological design this time ! Maybe a balance of ‘keep looking up’ and out, and ‘keep looking in’ ie self awareness alongside knowledge is what our species and civilisation needs to meet the challenges of the consequences of our own success as a species ? The internet has great potential in this chat form as a tool for encouraging awareness. No prizes for figuring that I am a lifelong adversary of subject specialism in pre degree education ! And an advocate of lifelong learning ! Been doing it all my long life and no intention of stopping !

I wrote a ten book series about the end of the world. I picked plague (Cordyceps fungus that attacks humans). AI would have been good, but I don't know much about it and what do they tell you? Write what you know... :) When I was in college in the 80s and 90s, the WHO's biggest concern was humanity's overpopulation and exploding rate of reproduction. Those books are the greatest thing I've ever done. :)

Good grief Neil! Could you please not interrupt your guests? Every time they're about to say something interesting, you have to stop them.... and seriously Neil, if you don't know how important a towel is, you just ain't cool.

Dude said.... (On Joe Rogan) ready???? Ready, ready ready???? *"You knooooow we went to the moon because they had just enough fuel to get to the moon and back"* (dude is an actor) all he does is regurgitate shit he heard or read. Only reason he's given his status is because hes a great actor and he's black.

Oh fine Neil, the next thing you are going to say is that "The Crawling Eye" isn't possible either! I still love to watch "Them".
