3 роки томуSkyblock is back! I've started a new Skyblock series to take advantage of all the changes made to this map for Minecraft 1.16: The Nether Update. The map has some surprises for us, and we have to set up a basalt generator to escape the Nether before we can return to the overworld, start tree farming, and build a cobblestone generator!

If you put a block above the lava on the cobblestone generator far fewer of the stones burn. They tend to pop up and arc over into the lava, so with an extra block they just bounce off. Also helps to put one more block above the one opposite you while you harvest, so that you don't have to deal with them popping up and onto that wall. Then, if you're going really crazy, you can break a cobblestone, then at the instant that the new one forms, start mining and just hold down the mouse button. You can harvest a cobblestone with a stone pickaxe in just under the time that it takes lava to flow, so you wind up breaking the block, it almost instantly forms again, and you break it anew. IIRC you get just under two stacks per pickaxe and it takes a couple of minutes to burn through the pickaxe's durability.

I set up a macro on my keyboard so i didnt have to hold the mouse down the whole time =P, i like to either leave a space open behind where im picking or crouch and pick the corner where sky is behind it so its just endless picking without the worry of breaking stuff.

@@theF0R3N I fill up my action bar with stone pickaxes, get myself in position, and get out of fullscreen. Then I queue up a video on here or Netflix or whatever that is about half an hour long and go back to my game, which is just a tiny window in the corner of my screen. Start mining, put a big, heavy stapler on my mouse button (no macro, but it gets the job done :-) ), and try to keep an eye on the durability of the pickaxe. If you switch just after it breaks a block (broken tool or not) then you don't mess up the timing. So I just hit 2,3,4,etc every couple of minutes and wind up with a mostly full inventory of cobblestone in the end.

I started with creating more and more trees. Using the warped blocks in a composter to create bone meal to create new fungi, and bridged over with bottom slabs to not create spawnable spaces. That was also kind grindy, but worked well. :) Hoped you'll start with a new series on it, was looking forward to it.

This is a great idea as you also get a bunch of light sources. Had to restart because I didn’t get a sapling when I got back to the overworld so will do it this way!

I did something similar after a creeper fell off my original bridge and blew up all my dirt. This time around I made 7 stacks of wood slabs, mined the dirt block to get teleported, then mined out the top two layers of the nether island after farming a few shroom trees for light sources. Then I took the contents of the chest back to the overworld and used my remaining wood slabs to bridge back to the island.

I love the cinematic shots on the grindy stuff. I feel lots of sky block series suffer from including all the monotonous grinding in or just skipping it completely. I think this strikes just the right balance between the two. Looking forward to this series!

I literally got into Minecraft just this month and found this channel yesterday and I am low-key obsessed. I don't usually like watching Minecraft videos but the fact that your videos are informative as well as just plain pleasant to watch helps a lot. I was very excited to see a more current series start. Can't wait to see more.

I am so glad you're doing a play through on the new skyblock, i decided I wanted to try it but because I haven't played in so long I had no clue about the basalt gen but now I do, so maybe I will try this map again! Really enjoying your videos, I really enjoy skyblock maps! :)

@33 SixtyNine no no, actually it's a feature in this data pack. Meaning that the creator of this Skyblock map has allowed it. It is not allowed in official Minecraft, just in this map which has some data packs extra installed which contain this feature. It is to make nether rack farmable.

I feel that DrTrog made the "escape the nether"-part too easy; the bone blocks are redundant since you can make a composter from the warped wood, the pre-existing portal and firecharge are also not necessary since one could make a simple gold farm and then trade with the piglins. However, looking forward to follow this new series!

Yeah And for the platform you should like make a ghast shoot at it or place a wood block near the portal which is not fire proof something like that would be difficult but skyblock is made for that purpose only. Correct me if wrong or if you have a better idea

YESSS, SKYBLOCK.!!!!even asked on stream about the future of this series. Also, this time don't make a turtle egg powered mob farm, use the path finding to solid blocks and make the area of water just above the drop-chute so the spiders suffocate and the string is brought down by zombies.

Damn, thanks for the instruction. I didn't know the basalt generator method, therefore I restarted my Skyblock and harvest many tree as I can in the overworld before dig myself into the nether. At least I could save the materials from the nether :D

Nice. When I started this map I didn't bother with basalt at first, farming the warped fungus provided me with heaps of bonemeal and wood. Used Warped slabs ad then built the cobble generator in the over-world out of warped wood too. :)

glad to see skyblock series back... god job Pix.. i thought giving free bone block in start is too OP. when i see ray works nether skyblock i realize the true purpose of nether tree(mushroom) is there is to make a composter and get bone meal from warped block to grow the fungus into a new tree and regrow the nylium block. can't wait to see you adventure in skyblock again, since first time i know your channel is from your skyblock series..

The good doctor actually left more than enough bonemeal on that island that you can use slabs to pillar off to the portal. All you have to do is: 1) clear away the warped fungus tree 2) craft a pickaxe 3) grab the bonemeal 4) bonemeal the netherrack/nylium until you have two nylium blocks and a warped stem, then entirely chop this down 5) craft a composter when you can. warped roots and the warped wart block have very high likelihood of filling the composter. 6) repeat step 4 When I did this, I had about 30 bonemeal left over as a nice surprise
