Here's a general tip when it comes to American Geography: Nothing in the west is ever close together

Got this so fast. I’m a Patriots fan, and Foxboro is roughly in the middle of Boston and Providence.

The Salt Lake guess was surprising. Gotta be nearly 600 miles. I've driven it a couple of times, and there's probably a 300 mile stretch between trees.

Why would you go with capitols that far west with that SLC guess? I instantly ruled out anything west of the Mississippi river, the states are far too large for that to be a reasonable answer when 40 miles covers you entire states on the east side of the country.

Matt and Michael missed the opportunity to tell Ken "Hey, Randall's score's still up there!" in the beginning of the game. 😂

I came up with the same answer as Randall! I assumed it had to be someplace on the east coast (everything's too spread-out out west), and I assumed that it was something related to the Mason-Dixon line. Dover and Annapolis are only 64 miles apart (or so says the Google Maps driving directions right now) and they're on opposite sides of the M-D line. Not a bad guess on Randall's part!

One thing I like about Ken’s hosting is when he validates their good but incorrect guesses. Like, as an act of commiseration from one trivia nerd to another, who knows how the thought processes work. For Annapolis/Dover, Alex would have just said “no, sorry”, but Ken’s vibe from his reaction is “ooh, that was the right sort of thing to be thinking, but you just missed the bullseye; great effort, but tough luck”.

Rhode Island is the 37th state to have a “Jeopardy!” Tournament Winner, and here’s a little something. Matt Harvey is from Providence, Rhode Island. So, I was like “Matt, you better get this 1 right”, and he did. Nice work.

Got this right away, don't know why! Proud of myself today.

At least I got one capital right. I guessed Providence and Hartford.

Thomas Hooker who founded Hartford was also persona non grata in the Bay Colony, but that's farther from Boston.

I was thinking Richmond and Charleston. :)

I took a guess because I live in Rhode Island, but I was surprised to learn it was right.

That was a tough one. I was thinking about Salt Lake City too because of the Mormon background, but that's not close to anything.

The answer was WAY TO EASY for me. I live 20 minutes away from Providence,and I loved going into the heart of Boston for the day. Plus,being a New England Patriots fan....knowing that the city of Foxboro is between the 2 Capitols. It was a no brainier!!!

Nope I had one in Providence Rhode Island but I thought it might be something like Concord in New Hampshire. Those smaller states up on the top right somewhere. 🤣

I guesnswarded "Montpelier and Concord". I assumed small states, small distances. Forgot about the whole existence of Rhode Island (the teensiest, tinyest state of them all) as being a "rogue colony" from the equally (especially N-S) small Massachusetts. These are honestly the kinds of Final Jeopardies I'm most happy with: Logical enough I felt I COULD have gotten the answer/question, but difficult enough I felt it required either an immediately-bright mind or detailed knowledge of a subject. If I'm wrong, but I'm happy enough with the difficulty of the question that I don't mind being wrong, that's really the best. The show should never NOT be challenging. Often when I get FJ right, I feel the question wasn't hard enough. But when I feel like I could have never gotten it right due to it being obscure beyond my understanding, I attribute it to some random niche interest. This split the uprights, if not the atom. Perfectly in the middle: I guessed wrong, but I'm happy nonetheless. It was logical, as was my wrong answer, but it's fine. There were multiple reasonable answers, but only one clearly more right than the others. Bravo, Jeopardy!

Knew this ever since I flew in to visit my now brother-in-law and he told me to just fly into Providence like someone saying to use Burbank instead of LAX.

Im sure Michael is a smart dude, but that was a pretty bad guess, I mean if you are going to go with Carson City at least pick Sacramento, which is like a billion times closer than Salt Lake.

I misheard the question because my sister and my mother were having a joint hissy fit about something my cousin allegedly said. So, I thought Ken said the capital was named after a man. I do better alone in my apartment!

I knew the answer immediately because I’d seen the question before. Jeopardy? Trivial Pursuit? Anyway Rhode Island is only 30 something miles wide and 40 something miles long so it’s definitely close to other states

Amazed to have guessed this one as a Brit. Just applied the ‘logic’, smallest state Rhode Island, sticks out below Massachusetts, why not?
