They played this extremely “safe” considering you are fighting monsters with a character design like eve. With that being said they have an immense amount they can expand on in part two. And it’s their first AAA game and coming from making mobile games the quality is insane to me.

My biggest fear (thanks to CyberPunk 2077) was that this game was too good to be true, that for as gorgeous as it looked it wouldn't hold up as a good game and it was all smoke and mirrors. Even the demo, which was really great made me question if the entire game would be up to that level or if they had just cherry picked the strongest part of the game to showcase and the rest of the game was either super short or not good. It's so nice to have these fears put to rest and see the good reviews that are coming out. I can't wait to play it for myself.

On the point of the backtracking. I feel like you are almost describing my time with Nier Automata as well. There are things I needed to do there in locations that are dead ends and that I have been to already. Luckily though you could see that as a negative comment, and for some it might be. The way Nier did it wasn't that bad as the gameplay was fun and just running around slashing robots was cool. If that same happens here... You won't hear me complaining ^_^

I’m personally waiting until it goes on sale to like $50, but it’s great to hear the game has turned out well. It is certainly fascinating Sony left all the sex appeal untouched given they’ve rather infamously been the ones censoring that in the PlayStation ports of certain games the past couple of years.

I hope the game sees success! This is definitely not my cup of tea but i appluad any new studio making something like this as their first foray into main stream gaming. Hopefully this allows the studio to build on this universe or gives them the financial ability to make another video game in general. It's wild to me how many "this game is garbage" comments i see in reviews (not just on this game, but new games as a whole). Game might not be for you, but no need to be an a-hole about it. Game hasnt been out even a full day but people watch 3 reviews and come to a judgment without having actually played the game. That would drive me insane aa a developer. Putting years of work into a project for it to be called "trash" and "garbage" by folks who haven't played a minute of it. Anyway, thanks for the vid guys!

The combat in this game is great, not just good. Only way you would say otherwise is if you ran around doing the same 1 or 2 comboes the entire time like you mentioned in the video. If you really engaged with all the comboes, counters, special abilities, combo extentions, and gunplay then you can easily say the combat is great.

I felt the Jedi reference was a strange one, I really enjoyed the combat but I didn’t find it nearly as clean as you describe in this video. Specifically, when it comes to the pairing and the hit boxes. I’ve definitely seen worse Perry’s and other games. But the hit box in Jedi Survivor was atrocious. It was so bad that in order to plant efficiently, I just assumed any attack regardless of how far away from me it was. Was a landing attack. Because it usually was. So if Stella blade has worse combat. Yikes! I’m sure I’ll still enjoy it. I’m just already frustrated. Thinking about it. 😂

I'm about 10 hours into the game & have been really enjoying it.

You are NOT a compltionist! No way, that you could possibly complete all the side quests, collect all the outfits and everything else in the game, upgrade all your gears and weapons, take in the scenery, read all the books and lore and maximise all the skills in 30 hours. That would take well over 100 hours or more. Stop with the BS! You earned yourself a nice big thumbs down though. Over and out! Stellar Blade is a stellar masterpiece! 10/10 Pros: Everthing, except for Tachy's storyline. Cons: Tachy's storyline. Tachy should have been the main protagonist, even though her hotness, would have been more distracting while playing the game.

I totally disagree with the combat review here. Yes , you only have one weapon , but you have many modes of using it. I think the one weapon works here. This is the developers first console game and they did a better job than many long time developers Bethesda (Starfield) I have not finished the game yet and I have more than 30 hours going...Yes I'm farming the monsters and leveling up the stats. This game is simply fun to play and fun to look at ( I say lose the high heels and you have a banger) Great game so far.

And it feels like all the negatives stated are par for the course for what we'd normally expect in double-A games; like some repeating biomes, or under baked side quests, etc. As long as the core aspects are solid, it'll be good. Those are the same qualities which also carried other diamonds-in-the-rough, like Demon's Souls or Dragon's Dogma, thru the years\

A HUGE reason why Stellar Blade is selling well is that many people believe that if the game sells well it will show other console devs that there is STILL a market for this ( sexy women in action games). And the idea in supporting this game is that other devs will start making more games like this again, since sexy women in games ( primarily in the west and in some cases in the East have been in a decline). That's the beauty of capitalism ( free markets) is that they don't lie, and the truth is that the numbers based on pre orders alone is INSANE , with stellar blade topping MULTIPLE charts. And the game is already predicted by an analysts to sell over a million units, which if true, is impressive for a brand NEW IP in 2024 , especially considering how expensive video games are to make now. And MANY people were dead set in supporting this game BEFORE the demo came out. So you can't just chuck it up to gameplay of the game either. Since while It helped the game,it isn't the MAIN selling point, just look at the discourse on twitter and youtube for further proof. Additionally, this idea that Stellar blade is only going to appeal to straight men as I read in an article is stupid, as I've seen PLENTY of women talking about how they like Eve's design, whether it's straight women saying how fashionable her outfit is. Or lesbian women talking about how hot she is. And I'm already seen females cosplay the character for fun. Yes, there will be groups of people who don't like the sexy portrayal of the character ( whether that be feminists on the left) . BUT SO WHAT? The reality is NOT EVERY GAME HAS TO APPEAL TO EVERYONE. Heck, there are TONS of works that I like in anime and gaming that is not mainstream. And I'm cool with that. WHY? BECAUSE I ENJOYED it, and who cares if the vast majority didn't, my only concerns is if the work is profitable enough to get a sequel. Not whether billions of people look at a character of a movie or an anime in the same way as I do. If you need something to be mainstream to feel confident about a product you like. Then you are someone that needs to be validated by others. Which is pathetic IMO and definitely not healthy. Again, the game come out tomorrow, so we'll see if there if there is a market for this ( sexy women in action games) And based on the pre order numbers I say studio Shift Up is doing just fine. Just thought I share my thoughts on this controversy, even though it REALLY SHOULDN'T be one in the first place.

Good review man. I love that you didn't highbrow us with the whole Eve controversy. Only having the demo to go by, I love the combat and the way they've managed to include hidden areas all over the maps with good loot to find. Game's already preloaded and in 15 hours I get to finally experience it on my own. There should be more games like this.
