@@erikpuka2627 If that’s true, then that’s just terrible. I think Stephen A. simply cares too much what the black and white community think about his racial/social commentary. If you’re coming from a truthful, sincere and loving place, then you just have to say what you have to say and let the chips fall where they may. If people can’t at least respect your point of view even if they still don’t agree with it, then that’s more of a reflection on them then a reason to criticize Stephen.

It's not hiding the truth.. it's just not something that NEEDED to be public because at the end of the day what does it accomplish... It's not like the public is entitled to this information... It's not even a football matter... That's like a student athlete getting something stolen from his/her dorm.. it's not really something that's required to be a public matter... Maybe if it was one of the players that was the culprit then sure it's something that should be addressed because that player would undoubtedly be suspended or even expelled which would make it a football matter as far as the roster goes...

No but because it's Deion at an HBCU it's a story... Jackson has a lot of untapped potential but there's just as much standing in the way of that progress. Prime example...how u have not fixed the roads until just last year that have sat damaged for literally 20+ years. 👀

Naw. He had to go public. A few months ago his car got broken into and they stole his radio. Now they're going in his office too? Is he supposed to just say nothing? He needs to make it public to shame folks. He needs to let them and anyone else know that there is another way. Don't steal from your brother. I fully agree with Stephen A. I am ultimately embarrassed. This is my alma mater. It should have been dealt with privately with the Memorial Stadium security and Jackson State security. In my opinion he did it the right way of calling it out, security needs to step up and if anything it only helps the faculty and students to do a better job of coming together and looking out for one another. Don’t hide crime because it’s a HBCU, set the standard. Prime handled it just like it was supposed to be handled and got his stuff back. The streets are going to start looking out for him.

It's more than once. They broke into his car and stole his boom box about a month ago too. He got that back after making a post about it. He has to put it out to the public because there are people in that area that care and have much love for Deion and realize that he didn't have to go down there and bring all that he brings to those people and that area and they will fight for him and eventually make things right.

Deion is changing the culture and this helps. Jackson State had their school president arrested for running a prostitution ring within last few years. SAS handling it differently is what many HBCU’s have done which is how they’ve gotten to this point. JSU campus police should’ve have already been working with Deion to make sure locker room and offices were secure.

As a former resident of Jackson and Alumni of JSU, "Jacktown" is an impoverished and segregated city with an obvious history of theft and violence. Coach Prime is getting his share unfortunately. When I was in school, artists refused to perform after Master P was robbed and sent walking up the street naked (according to legend) and T-Pain had to brace himself I'm his hotel because theives were waiting to catch him on the way to his show. I'm embarrassed on one hand, but I also understand the economics leading to this ignorance...

I agree with this. I live in the Jackson Metro area and the crime here is off the chain! They warned him about that when coming here. It want be the last time this happen. Now they will be coming for him! Unfortunately!

I totally disagree with Stephen A. Smith. Deion is absolutely correct! People have to hold themselves and their community to a higher standard. IF you see someone doing something dishonourable, you call them out. Do not wait for someone else to do it, do it yourself! If something is unacceptable, DO NOT ACCEPT IT! He is calling for the improvement of every aspect of that environment. Everyone! And calling out the theft of his property, so that people understand the ills of the current environment, and know that this behaviour will not be tolerated, is one step towards bettering the situation! In answer to Stephen A.’s question, why should people go to Jackson State? They should go there because there is a new sheriff in town, one who is committed to changing the culture of the community, that’s why!

No...actually, as expected, it seems that Deion made a great statement-especially under the circumstances. The reason our community is in the shape it’s in is because we try to keep too many absurd dysfunctions “in house.” Didn’t this story drop right around the the time the little boy disrespected Cam Newton...? We have no sense of collective progress...thus we’re getting to the point where we’ll disrespect people while they are IN THE ACT of helping us grow. ...and the ones most likely to clown, typically wouldn’t so much as raise their voice to someone white. js Deion needed to say something because this wasn’t just about his stuff-this goes to the heart of changes we need to make as a people.

I knew a guy who played football at Baylor a PWI. He told me his car battery went out. So he stole one out of another person car in the school parking lot late at night. When it comes to Black Colleges its two fold. Its like we told you so. You should have went to FSU. Stealing happens everwhere.

If your child, relative, friend, or aquatints, at ANY AGE is a criminal, TURN YOUR the person into the POLICE; otherwise, you care nothing for the person. This is Embarrassing. I am glad Coach Prime made it public. This is the only way it will stop. Do not enable criminal behavior by anyone. If you do, you not only don't care about the person, you don't care anything about the community you live in nor the businesses you are a patron to. If a person is a criminal, it reflects on the parenting they received.. at some point the parenting enabled this criminal behavior or continues to enable criminal behavior. This goes for anyone who accepts or pays for stolen goods. It's all criminal behavior. Do not accept stolen goods. If people want better & safer communities , people have to do their part to make the community better and safer.
