And were actually respectable. The ownership literally said that he had taken them to another level but "wanted to change" to take things to the next level. They then proceeded to hire two of the most unqualified candidates they could have. Because of nepotism which manifests itself as other white coaches. The lack of patience that they had with him vs what they had with the clown in the Raiders who got a 10 year guaranteed contract having not coached for years and who was mediocre the entire time is clearly about race.

My perception from the outside looking in was that there was always some level of disconnect between him and the players for sure, and prob some coaches too. I have no idea how his fellow coaches really felt about him, but take a look at the difference in locker room energy already with a couple of those Freeman clips out there today..."it's palpable" as they say.

ND is contractually required to play 5 ACC games each year. They also play Navy, Stanford and USC (the latter two are for recruiting), who is their most continuous rival, every year. That leaves only 4 games two of which are usually against the Big Ten. There just isn't any room on their schedule for more Big Ten games.

I see it as a good hire cause it is an internal hire. Helps with the morale and culture. Kind of like UNC hiring Hubert Davis after Roy retired. It was simply the most logical move in terms of culture and expectations.
